The long-awaited Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been out for three weeks now, bringing new adventures and challenges to the beloved game. But that's not all—players can now enjoy the game with the newly released update to the Seamless Co-op Mod, which is now compatible with the DLC content since yesterday. This mod allows up to five players to explore the vast open world together without restrictions.

A New Era of Co-op Gameplay

The Seamless Co-op Mod revolutionizes multiplayer in Elden Ring. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Unlimited Co-op: From the tutorial to the final boss, you can now journey through the entire game with friends. If a player dies, they respawn at the last bonfire, and the session continues seamlessly.
  • No Boundaries: Forget the annoying fog walls and barriers—this mod removes them, allowing full exploration of the world. Defeating bosses won’t send your friends home either.
  • Shared Progress: All players in a session can use Torrent, the game’s trusty steed, and all map waypoints synchronize for easier navigation. NPC dialogues and events are also synced, making the experience truly collaborative.
  • World State Reset: When one player rests at a Site of Grace, the world state resets for everyone. Any progress made in a co-op session also counts towards your solo game.

Quality of Life Improvements

The mod isn’t just about co-op; it comes with several qualities of life improvements:

  • Freedom with Mods: With Easy Anti-Cheat disabled, you can use other mods as long as everyone in the session has them installed.
  • Streamlined Connections: No more frustrating disconnections—if you get dropped, you can quickly rejoin your friends.
  • Balancing Mechanics: To keep the challenge alive, mechanics like custom scaling and a debuff system called "rot" are in place. Rot increases with each death and can only be cured by resting at a Site of Grace.

Invasions and Safety

For those who miss the thrill of invasions, the mod allows you to enable this feature. Players can join sessions as invaders or fight off intruders if the option is turned on.

Worried about bans? The mod uses separate save files and bypasses FromSoftware’s matchmaking servers, ensuring you won’t get banned. Just make sure not to mix modded and vanilla save files.

Installation

Installing the mod is straightforward:

  1. Download: Get the mod from NexusMods or the GitHub mirror.
  2. Extract: Move the downloaded files to your Elden Ring game folder.
  3. Configure: Edit "ersc_settings.ini" to set your co-op password.
  4. Launch: Use "ersc_launcher.exe" to start the mod.

You don’t need to uninstall the mod to play the game normally. Just use the regular launcher when not in co-op mode. If you have further questions, the modder explained everything in detail on the website.

How to Start

Playing together is simple: one player hosts the session using the Tiny Great Pot item, and others join with the Effigy of Meleina. To end the session, use the Separating Mist. For those looking for a bit more chaos, the Judicator's Rulebook allows toggling friendly fire and PvP modes.

With the Seamless Co-op Mod now available for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Elden Ring’s newest content is more exciting than ever. Gather your friends and dive into the Lands Between for an unforgettable cooperative adventure.
