FromSoftware's director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently said he was open to making an adaptation of Elden Ring. Now, even George R. R. Martin is hinting at a possible movie adaptation.
In a recent interview, Miyazaki stated that "Shadow of the Erdtree is the end of Elden Ring for now." But he is open to "another interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring, a movie, for example." Now George R. R. Martin has joined the fray.
Elden Ring Movie Rumors Continue To Spread...
Now George R. R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones, has added fuel to the fire by implying that he knows something about the project:
Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?
As you can probably tell, George R. R. Martin has clearly heard something about this Elden Ring project. Who knows, perhaps he is even involved?
What could we expect from an Elden Ring movie?
The lore of Elden Ring is infamously cryptic, butfull of exhilarating set pieces and gripping concepts. Every single demigod is interesting enough to carry their own story.
If we're talking movies, I could imagine, that the plot would be more focused on one character, whileI think the structure of a TV-show would lend itself very well to the source material.
We already know that George R. R. Martin is capable of writing a gripping story to adapt over multiple seasons, and seeing the Shattering-War that started it all, would be a dream come true for me and many other fans.
But for now, we can only wait and speculate. What would you like to see in an Elden Ring movie or show? Let us know!
