We've heard so much about these bots, but can we play against them offline?
We've all been there, the servers are down, or you're getting yet anothererror code. You don't want to play another shooter like Call of Duty or Halo (although maybe you should), and you don't want to play Battlefield Mobile, no, you want to play Battlefield 2042. But can you without reconnecting? Can you play Battlefield 2042 offline? And if so, what modes can you play?
Can you play Battlefield 2042 offline?
No, sorry; like so many other modern shooters, you need to connect to the servers to fetch your profile and play. There isn't even a campaign to enjoy anyway, the whole game is multiplayer focused. Although to be fair, we can't have a go at them for the lack of campaign; clearly they had enough on their plate already developing Battlefield 2042 and campaign modes need to be done well to be worth it.
When you do get online, at least you can make an experience just for you and some bots in the Portal mode:
What kind of Single-Player Modes does Battlefield 2042 have?
You can play every mode in All-Out-Warfare and certain modes in Portal completely single-player against bots. We know it's not the same as a fully fledged campaign mode (are we sounding like a broken record?) but it is something when you're feeling anti-social and just want to chill with some bots. In fact, you can actually use bot matches to farm XP, which is especially helpful in a game notorious for slow levelling...
Sorry, we had to bring the bad news about offline capabilities in Battlefield 2042, but we always bring solutions to error codes when we find them. So just check back on EarlyGame's Battlefield hub if this is what's stopping you getting on to the servers.
