The Dragon Aspect expansion was the most ambitious one Blizzard ever released. But the plan was not to succeed. Deathwing had wiped every idyllic place from the map of Azeroth, and with it, part of the fascination that was WoW. Not to mention the disappointing boss battle, where you're pounding on armor plates for minutes on end. Did you try the heroic version back then? Pandas. Well, apart from the Pandaren, the fourth WoW expansion had a lot more to offer. What started out as a disguised April Fool's joke, culminated in one of the most atmospheric add-ons ever. It was just all so beautiful, BUT! So much went wrong with the grind there, the farmer quests where Azeroth's heroes had to grow turnips was just... such a jarring change of tone. After the disappointing BfA and Shadowlands experience, Dragonflight brought new life into World of Warcraft. The introduction of the Dracthyr Evoker offered fresh gameplay, Dragonriding was a game-changer for exploration, and the overhauled leveling and talent systems got a much-needed refresh. The updated professions also add a rewarding complexity to the crafting system. Definitely one of the better expansions! | © Blizzard Entertainment
The first ever WoW expansion. It definitely brought a breath of fresh air to the MMORPG and it improved on the original. With the Draenei and Blood Elves, the expansion brought two popular races with it and introduced the flying mounts. For this alone we are grateful. | © Blizzard Entertainment
After the disappointing Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard had to convince long-time fans. The idea banked on impressive new areas, world quests, lots of end-game content and unique class content.
