Despite being different to traditional Mario titles, Super Mario Odyssey is up there with the best of them in terms of fun. The game's design is a masterpiece that gets you excited to explore kingdoms and find resources, and we're hoping we occasionally get more Mario games like this in the future. | © Nintendo
Valorant stands out from the crowd of competitive shooters for its vibrancy and its wonderful roster of characters. It's basically CS for people who like anime. | © Riot Games
Genshin Impact is one of the best gacha games out there, with awesome designs and a deep story behind every character. It suffers from long dialogue quests, but its story is amazing. | © miHoYo
As an indie game developed almost entirely by one person, Stardew Valley has revolutionized the farming simulation genre. It combines agriculture, exploration, and social interaction in a charming pixel world. | © ConcernedApe
Warzone was the lockdown game, and saw incredibly success during those times. It struggled in the years that followed, but nevertheless introduced great ideas to the Battle Royale genre, like the loadout system, and Resurgence. | © Infinity Ward
Despite the initial hate, Counter-Strike 2 is the best competitive shooter on the market. It's CS:GO, but with significant quality-of-life improvements. | © Valve Corporation
Ghost of Tsushima is not revolutionary, but it is a well-polished game with more than enough content to justify the price. It boasts stunning visuals in every scene and features some of the best combat in non-Souls games. | © Sucker Punch Productions
Detroit: Become Human is a hidden masterpiece with one of the greatest stories ever explored in video games, featuring lots of choices and endings. Its graphics are insanely good, and the gameplay is wonderful! | © Quantic Dream
Outer Wilds is a one-of-a-kind exploration game where you can progress through knowledge rather than typical mechanics. It has an open-ended design and a stunning universe that creates an unforgettable discovery experience. | © Mobius Digital
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an exceptional game with a fantastic, challenging yet rewarding combat system. But yeah, you will struggle at the beginning. | © FromSoftware
Portal 2 is my favorite game from the last decade for many reasons, including the voice acting, the dialogue system, and the memories of co-op. Valve clearly prioritized quality over quantity here, and cut content to just 7 brilliant hours. | © Valve Corporation

The whole point of The Last of Us II is to make you consider the story of the original title from a different angle. The climatic fight symbolizes this change in perspective masterfully. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best cowboy game we've ever had, and it will probably remain so for decades and decades to come. The story is fantastic, the open-world is a joy to explore, and Rockstar's humor is just as enjoyable here as on the streets of Los Santos. Baldur's Gate III is undoubtedly one of the best games ever made. It's excellent in almost every way, but is most famous for its flexible storytelling, which gives players a feeling of genuine autonomy in the world, and the companions, whose relationships feel real and important.
