5. Rocket League Season 3

Rocket League Season 3 was such a bundle of absolute dog-turd that we even did a video on it explaining "Why Rocket League Season 3 is Worse Than Grandma's Tomato Soup", and you can check it out here. The Tyranno was the blandest, most boring vehicle ever, and the sports-car theme was utterly squandered via a variety of over-priced downloadable content packs. The Rocket Pass was terrible, and so was basically everything about Season 3. | © Psyonix

4. Rocket League Season 5

The most recent season of Rocket League (as of writing) is an absolute snooze fest. There's basically nothing to get excited about here, with a boring-as-hell arena (though not quite as bad as season 3's atrocity) and a vehicle that has almost nothing going for it. Still, it's not quite as bad as season 3, and has a relatively decent Rocket Pass. Not all bad, we suppose... | © Psyonix

3. Rocket League Season 1

The season that kicked off free-to-play Rocket League featured a relatively solid selection of items in the Rocket Pass, a pretty cool theme... Legacy! F2P season 1 celebrated the history and legacy of Rocket League. It was a whole lot of fun, even if the Harbinger was a bit of a disappointing car. It was inspired by Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, the original Rocket League, but didn't really cut the cake in our opinion. Still, though, season 1 was pretty solid. | © Psyonix

2. Rocket League Season 4

Rocket League's free-to-play season 4 introduced us to a fantastic, moody western-theme. Honestly, the Outlaw was a great car, and we had a lot of fun with it, and some of those decals and toppers that came with the Rocket Pass absolutely ruled. Sure, there was nothing too exciting here, but after the disgust we felt for Season 3, it was a breath of fresh air. Honestly, guys, Season 4 was pretty darn fabulous! | © Psyonix

1. Rocket League Season 2

Season 2 of free-to-play Rocket League featured the R3MX Car Body. What more could you want? Like jeez-mageez, that was one sexy-as car! With an awesome new Arena (Neon Fields), and a chock-a-block full Rocket Pass, there was little to complain about with Season 2, and we desperately wish for a return to this level of quality in subsequent seasons. Fingers crossed, because F2P Season 2 ruled! | © Psyonix

Since Rocket League went free-to-play back in 2020, we've seen our fair share of ups and downs. From the travesty of Season 3, to the glory of Season 2, there's a lot to love and a lot to hate. One of the greatest disappointments of the transition, and the game's acquisition by Epic Games, is the intense focus on ridiculous cosmetic items that literally add nothing to the game, but line Psyonix and Epic Games' coffers via our transactions in the humble item shop. This all being said, it's time to take a look at the last five seasons and rank them from best... to worst...
