Xbox Elite Controller Silicone Case Reviewed: Unboxing and First Impressions
The packaging of the cover appears rather simple and not very high quality. It's made of pure plastic and could be much more environmentally friendly. The cover itself is made of soft and stretchable silicone, making it very easy to slip the cover over the Xbox One Elite Controller. But at the end, the packaging itself does not affect the actual functionality of the cover.
Xbox Controller Silicone Case: Practical Test Unveils Minor Flaws
During the test, I noticed that the cover at the bottom of the controller, especially under the D-pad and the right analog stick, doesn't sit particularly tight. This could quickly tempt people with nervous fingers to play around with this loose end, which could further stretch the silicone or even cause it to tear.
Aside from that, the cover fits well on the controller and provides precise cutouts for all important ports, buttons, joysticks, and triggers on the back. Additionally, two thumbstick caps are included in the delivery, which can be easily slipped over the analog sticks. Both the cover and the caps feature a grip pattern, making the controller comfortable to hold even with the cover.
Since my controller is already showing signs of wear and tear (such as the grip coming off), the cover is a good protection for everyday use.
Is the Price-Performance Ratio Right for the Play Vital Protective Case?
The price-performance ratio of the Xbox Elite Controller cover from Play Vital for 15 bucks, is good in my opinion. Despite minor flaws, such as the unnecessary plastic packaging or the very stretchable material, it ultimately provides good protection for the controller. Furthermore, the cover is available in different colors, and for those who like it particularly eye-catching: One variant can even glow in the dark.
Verdict
Despite minor weaknesses, the Xbox Elite Controller cover from Play Vital is a good choice for anyone looking to protect and personalize their controller. With precise cutouts, various color options, and additional thumbstick caps, you get a complete package for your Xbox Elite Controller. Since my controller's grip is already coming off, such a cover is a good alternative, and my concern about having to buy a new controller has been postponed indefinitely. 😊
✅So, I recommend buying it if you can live with the minor flaws!
