The latest House of the Dragon episode has been review bombed for one short scene. It seems that one part of the world specifically is not happy with what the showrunners have planned.
Is House of the Dragon fated to go down the same path as Game of Thrones, with later seasons and episodes becoming hated by a large part of the viewers? Well, the newest episode of Season 2 seems to indicate that the series has plummeted from its high highs to extremely low lows.
The latest episode has the lowest rating of any House of the Dragon episode ever, but there could be one specific reason behind this plummet, and it might have nothing to do with the plot or the execution. But a single kiss is to blame.
House of the Dragon Season 2, Episode 6 Received Awful Reviews Online
House of the Dragon Seaosn 2 has experienced immense success, following in the footsteps of it's predecessor and the early seasons of Game of Thrones, but it seems that episode 6 of the show has rubbed a large part of their viewer base in the wrong way, and they're letting everyone know by review bombing.

Looking at IMDB, the episode has received the worst rating in House of the Dragon history, sitting at 6.2 out of 10. Sure, this isn't horrible and there are many shows and movies with much worse ratings, but House of the Dragon has been hovering around the 8-point mark throughout most of its second season.
The sixth episode of the series must have triggered some people, though, when a same-sex kiss between Queen Rhaenyra and her ally, Mysaria was shown on screen.
Not only were people leaving one-star reviews, but also adding their 2-cents, one reviewer writing that the scene "was not necessary and completely ruined the mood of the show". They went on to state that the series is now "ruined" for them. Another reviewer suggested that including the same sex kiss is part of some sort of "agenda"... okay, buddy. Calm down and put down the tinfoil hat before you hurt yourself.
It would be interesting to see how people would have reacted had this been a straight couple kissing... others on Twitter / X have also suggested that the incest that is quite prevalent in the show seems to be fine, but the reviewers draw the line at same-sex relationships... interesting.
Let's be real, homosexuality exists and it exists in Westeros as well. Are we forgetting how queer-coded Loras Tyrell was in the books...? So, let's not get our panties in a twist over one same-sex kiss.
