The gaming world has been buzzing with excitement for the long-awaited release of "Fallout: London," the highly anticipated mod. And many are wondering whether it will come to Xbox and PS5.
After years of relentless anticipation and a series of delays, the fan-made mod Fallout: London has finally made its debut. Officially released on July 25, 2024, this extensive DLC mod for Fallout 4 transports players to a desolate, post-apocalyptic London, offering a fresh and thrilling take on the beloved post-apocalyptic universe. Available for download through GOG.
However, with the excitement of this release comes a pressing question: Will Fallout: London be available on Xbox or PlayStation?
If Fallout London Coming To Console?
Despite the mod’s exciting release, console gamers looking to explore the ruins of London may face disappointment. Unfortunately, Fallout: London will not be available on Xbox or PlayStation platforms. The mod's sheer size and its reliance on the Fallout Script Extender (F4SE), a tool essential for its operation, present significant challenges for porting it to consoles. The technical complexity involved in adapting such a large-scale mod to the consoles’ architecture makes this transition highly impractical.
A Glimmer of Hope for Xbox Users
While Fallout: London itself remains exclusive to PC, there is a silver lining for Xbox players. Certain elements from the mod, such as the Chinese pistol and the Lewis Gun, are available on Xbox through Bethesda.net. This selective availability provides a taste of the mod’s content, though it falls short of delivering the full Fallout: London experience.
Moreover, the Fallout: London team has left the door open for further contributions from the community. In their FAQ Section, they stated, “Specific standalone items may be released separately. The community has the permission to convert said standalone items to other platforms.” This means that while the complete mod will not make its way to consoles, there may be future opportunities for console players to access individual assets or elements from the mod.
Fingers crossed.
