In this guide, we explain the reason behind the Zenless Zone Zero device overheating issue and the steps on how you can fix it.
If you are struggling with device overheating issues while playing Zenless Zone Zero on your mobile device and want to lower the temperature to ensure longer gameplay sessions, look no further—we've got you covered.
Mobile overheating while playing certain games has become a prevalent issue—a serious one that, if not addressed, may result in severe injury and even cause death in some scenarios.
With the arrival of Zenless Zone Zero, a mobile-first ARPG, I had to check whether the game was causing overheating issues. I tested the game on two devices: my good old iPhone 13 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
While the latter didn't face severe overheating issues in a one-hour gameplay session, the iPhone 13 Pro started overheating in just a few minutes. To be clear, both devices ran the game on max settings.
Thus, based on that and the fixes that I tried to lower the temperature, I am here with this handy guide on how to fix the overheating issue while playing Zenless Zone Zero on your mobile device.
How To Fix Overheating Issues While Playing Zenless Zone Zero
Two of the main reasons why a device starts to overheat while playing games are—when the game is unoptimized and uses more resources than intended more irregularly and when your device hardware is not able to handle the load of the game, mainly in terms of processing power.
With that said, here are a few things I recommend trying to fix the overheating issue while playing games like Zenless Zone Zero:
Turning Down The Graphics Settings
Lowering the Graphics settings reduces the load on your device, which helps reduce the temperature to a great extent while draining your battery at a much lower rate.
Thankfully, Zenless Zone Zero offers a dedicated "Power Saving Mode," which is effective, as I have already tested it. You can use it to reduce overheating and save some power for longer gaming sessions.
Other than that, if you don't want to play Zenless Zone Zero in Power Saving Mode, I recommend at least changing settings like Rendering, Shadows, and FX Quality to medium or low only if you are facing overheating issues.
Turning Down The Brightness
Yes, lowering the device brightness helps reduce the temperature of your mobile device while playing games like Zenless Zone Zero and helps resolve the quick battery drain issue.
Using Gameboosters Or Closing Background Apps
Suspending or forcing the closing of background apps that you don't need can help lower the temperature of your device and improve performance.
You can either do it manually or by using the myriad game boosters available on Apple's App Store and Google's PlayStore.
Using Phone Coolers
If you have a few bucks to spare and play games on your mobile device more frequently, you can also buy a phone cooler like the Razer Phone Cooler Chroma . It works very well and is a convenient tool, especially for players who play games on their mobile for longer durations.
