Once Human is a survival game to the core, and to survive, you need to have more resources, equipment, and any other item in your inventory, as apart from a few currencies and unique items, every other item holds weight.

The game doesn't tell you how to increase your carry capacity and backpack storage in Once Human, but I will, so keep reading my Once Human increasing backpack storage and carry capacity guide.

In Once Human, you can increase your Backpack Capacity by unlocking the Backpack Expansion—Master Craftsman Memetic Specialization once you are level 15.

To do that, press and hold the 'Tab' key and select the 'Cradle' option. Alternatively, you can also navigate to the Memetics Cradle from your Inventory.

Once on the Memetics screen, click the Memetics Specialization icon at the top left corner. Now, select the third specialization and make sure to choose Backpack Expansion.

After that, head to a Supplies Workbench and craft the Backpack Expansion using the below materials:

  • Metal Scraps x10
  • Raw Hide x10
  • Rubber x15

Once the crafting process is complete, keep the Backpack Expansion in your inventory, and it will automatically increase the carrying capacity by 40 kg.

Another way to increase your backpack storage and eventually the carrying capacity is by bulking up.

Yes, in my Once Human Fitness guide, I already explained how the different body weight ranges affect the inventory size while proving certain buffs and debuffs.

The more your body weight, the more stuff you can carry. So, check it out for more details.

Now, I do believe there may be consumables that help temporarily boost your carry capacity. I haven't found any. But if I do, I will share it in this guide.
