Even though the Honkai Star Rail version 2.2, and with it Robin's banner, just started a few days ago, it's never too early to take a loot at the next upcoming 5-Star unit! If you plan on pulling for Boothill during the second half of 2.2, this guide could prove to be very helpful to you!
HoYoverse really has a talent for creating new and unique characters for their games! This was demonstrated once again when the first leaks for Boothill came to light. In just a few weeks, his banner will finally go live, and I bet many of you are looking forward to pulling for this cyborg cowboy!
If you think about adding Boothill to your character roster once his banner goes live on May 29, 2024, you should take a closer look at this little guide on him!
Honkai Star Rail Boothill Build: Best Relics, Light Cones & Team Comps
Boothill is a cyborg cowboy roams the cosmos, full of optimism and boundless spirit. He belongs to the Galaxy Rangers, a group committed to relentlessly pursuing the vile by any means necessary.
📌 Boothill Overview | |
Banner Start: | May 29, 2024 |
Element & Path: | Physical / The Hunt |
Rarity: | 5-Star |
Pre Release Ranking: | S-Tier |
Difficulty: | easy / mid |
His flamboyant and audacious deeds aim to capture the attention of the Interastral Peace Corporation – the focus of his quest for vengeance.
Boothill's Build
In order to have the strongest Boothill you could ever imagine, we have to first take a look at her Relics. You should aim to give him a completed 4-piece set together with a fitting 2-piece set. Alternatively, you can also start off by giving Boothill three 2-piece sets instead.
Unfortunately, Boothill's best 4-piece set will release one version after his banner dropped, which means, there is no real point in farming for Relics already. For now, you can choose these two alternatives:
Set Combination #1
- 4-piece: Thief of Shooting Meteor
- 2-piece: Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
Set Combination #2
- 2-piece: Thief of Shooting Meteor
- 2-piece: Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations
- 2-piece: Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
As mentioned earlier, don't be sad if you can't find any good pieces for him as of right now, since the real Relic grind starts with version 2.3! The new Relic set, called “Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge”, will be his best in slot choice, so don't waste your stamina on pieces, you will replace anyway.
Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
- 2-piece: Increase Break Effect by 16%.
- 4-piece: If the wearer's Break Effect is 150% / 250% or higher, ignore 10% / 18% of the enemy target's DEF when dealing Break DMG to them.
Sounds like this set will fit him so well!
Boothill's Best Stats
The right (sub)stats are just as important as choosing the right set on Boothill! You should aim for the following stats:
- Body: Crit DMG / RATE → ATK%
- Boots: SPD
- Planar Sphere: Physical DMG / ATK%
- Link Rope: Break Effect
- Overall Prio: Break Effect (300+) → SPD → Crit RATE / DMG → ATK%
Boothill seems to be built like a normal hyper carry, with the crucial difference that he seems to prefer Break Effect on his Relics instead of ATK%. — Fascinating character! Other than that, crit stats are always super valuable on hi, just as a SPD minimum of 160!
Boothill's Light Cones
Another key component of a completed build for Boothill is a fitting Light Cone, and of course, just like every other 5-Star character, he will also have his very own signature weapon!
In the Special Program Livestream of version 2.2, we could already see Boothill's signature Light Cone, alongside the one that belongs to Fu Xuan! Since this charming cowboy is meant to be a main carry, pulling for his signature weapon might be a good idea!
Sailing Towards A Second Life:
- Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 60%. The Break DMG dealt by the wearer ignores 20% of the target's DEF. When the wearer's Break Effect in battle is at 150% or greater, increases their SPD by 12%.
Let's take a look at some alternatives!
Other Light Cone Options
All Light Cones are display at S1.
Light Cone | Rarity | Effect |
Cruising in the Stellar Sea | ★★★★★ |
|
Swordplay | ★★★★ |
|
Good Night and Sleep Well | ★★★★ |
|
Unfortunately, there is currently no Light Cone for The Hunt characters, which provides Break Effect, which is why most alternatives work rather poorly on Boothill. However, knowing HoYoverse, a 4-Star variant of Boothill's signature weapon will probably be released soon.
Boothill's Team Comps
Last but not least, we will take a closer look at some possible tea comps for Boothill!
Break The Enemy
I guess it is more than obvious that Ruan Mei will be one of Boothill's best supports! She increases her team's Break DMG, and leaves the enemies in a weakness broken state much longer. Ruan Mei is just the best all-rounder support unit!
If you don't have Ruan Mei, the new Harmony main character seems to work super well with Boothill as well, and you can choose debuffers like Silver Wolf to join this comp!
If you want to make this option more free to play friendly, Pela works almost as good as Silver Wolf does in most scenarios. If you need more sustain, Gallagher is a good pick with Boothill.
And that warps up our guide on Boothill! The last thing that needs to be done now, is actually pulling him! Good luck to all who are trying to get him, once the second phase of version 2.2 is approaching.
