Can you clear decals in CS2? In CS:GO, players could remove blood or bullet tracers from walls and floors using a command. However, in CS2, which features significant graphic updates, this is only possible on servers where cheats are enabled. We'll provide you with the necessary commands and additional important information.
In a game where seeing clearly can give you an advantage, it's important to have a clear view. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, walls and floors would often get covered in blood and bullet holes during the round. Sometimes, this makes it hard for players to see their enemies because the walls were splattered with dark red.
Clearing Decals in CS2 Is Only Possible Under Private Server Conditions
If you were a heavy user of the "r_cleardecals" command, we have sad news for you. This command hasn't been transferred to Counter-Strike 2. "cl_decal_clear_world" has been removed as well. This means that you can't transfer your key bind script to CS2. But does this mean, that you can't clear decals anymore?
Well, kind of, unfortunately. There are commands removing the even more realistic looking blood of Counter-Strike 2, but these commands can only be used with sv_cheats set on 1. This means you can only execute these commands on private servers and against bots. If you still want to use them for this, these are the commands:
- cl_removedecals
- r_csgo_render_decals false
- r_drawdecals false
To use them, you can just bind them to a key and put them into your autoexec file. If you have done that, decals will be cleared on offline servers when you press the key you bind it to.
Do You Even Need To Clear Decals In Counter-Strike 2?
Valve have brought some amazing visual upgrades to Counter-Strike 2. You can check out this video from Valve themselves, showing the new graphics for CS2:
Agents are much easier to see than in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. But the blood splattering after hitting an opponent also is more violent than it was in CS:GO.
This means that the area of use is still there for the clear decals command. Yet you won't be able to access them on Valve's online servers. At this point in time, it seems highly unlikely, that the command for clearing decals will become available to use for everyone, everywhere.
If you used to clear bloodstains on walls every time you saw them, you should get used to seeing blood. Otherwise, Counter-Strike 2 will offer some tough challenges for you.
