We imagine we'll get a lot of missions set in the favelas when **Modern Warfare 2 is released**. Hell, even the **new Warzone map** is rumored to be set in this location. But until then, let's not forget the majesty of the original Favela map, and its campaign and Spec Ops missions. O Cristo Redentor was chaotic to the point of madness, but it was a very challenging, and very satisfying mission.

Best Spec Ops Missions In Call of Duty History 4 mile high jack — 4. Milehigh Jack

See! They're not all from Modern Warfare 2. Milehigh Jack was a great practice mission to get better and better on, kind of like MW3's version of The Pit. It wasn't as good as The Pit (none of MW3's Spec Ops missions can really compare to those of the prequel), but it did the job when you wanted a warm-up.

This mission was a great way for Infinity Ward to show us what they wanted to do with Spec Ops. This was a deliberately arcade-y version of a campaign mission ending, and it was fun from start to finish. The perfect way to wind down after a sweaty night of SnD on Karachi.

Best Spec Ops Missions In Call of Duty History 2 the pit — 2. The Pit

The Pit was the very first Spec Ops mission in the CoD franchise. This wasn't a hard mission to complete if you were just trying to get through it and get to the next mission. But the challenge and replayability of The Pit came from trying to complete it as quickly as possible. This little arcade-style test would have players trying their luck again and again and again, just so they could shave milliseconds off their best score. It was a simpler, better time.

Best Spec Ops Missions In Call of Duty History 1 Hidden — 1. Hidden

Of course, this was going to be number one. It was basically a co-op version of the greatest Call of Duty mission of all time: **All Ghillied Up**. It's a simply phenomenal mission, and a masterclass for developers everywhere on how to do stealth missions in an otherwise chaotic shooter.

Special Ops is Infinity Ward's traditional 3rd mode. Where Treyarch has the more popular Zombies, IW have their Spec Ops. And while it has been a substantially less popular mode than Zombies, it still provided some great missions over the years.

Infinity Ward nailed this mode when they first introduced it back in 2009, but when they tried to remake it for Modern Warfare 2019, it was almost as terrible as the maps. Let's pretend MW2019 doesn't exist.
