With a different FOV you'll get a different gameplay experience. While Valorant limits the FOV options to 103 in-game your best chance is to change it outside of Valorant. We'll tell you how!
Field of View, also known as FOV, refers to the visible range on your screen while playing the game. A lower FOV means less to see, while a higher FOV allows you to see more. In Valorant, having a high FOV can significantly impact your gameplay.

Here are the advantages of using a higher FOV:
- A wider perspective
- Easier detection of enemy Agents
- Potential improvement in reflexes and aim-switching
By default, Valorant's FOV is set to 103, which is relatively high compared to the average of 90 preferred by most users. For instance, if you change the game's aspect ratio to 4:3, the FOV decreases to 71, putting you at a disadvantage as you'll have a narrower view of the elements on your screen.
How to Change FOV in Valorant
Unfortunately, Valorant doesn't provide an option to directly modify the FOV in the in-game settings. As mentioned earlier, the default FOV of 103 is decent and sufficient for many players, but some may find it unsatisfactory. If you want to increase or decrease the FOV, you'll need to explore alternative solutions outside the game to achieve the optimal setting for maximizing your performance.
Adjusting FOV Using NVIDIA
The most convenient way to modify the FOV is through the Nvidia Control Panel if you have an Nvidia GPU. For users without an Nvidia GPU, please refer to the alternative solutions below.
If you have an Nvidia GPU, follow these steps:
- Right-click on your desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel"
- In the display options on the left side, choose "Adjust desktop size and position"
- Here, you can adjust your PC's resolution to your desired setting
If you're unsure which resolution to select, scroll down for the most optimal one recommended for Valorant.
Adjusting FOV in Valorant
For those without an NVIDIA GPU, you can attempt to modify the FOV within the game itself.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Launch Valorant and go to Settings
- In the Video Tab, you will find four options at the top that you can adjust
The Preferred Resolutions Used by Professional Players in Valorant
Finally, let's explore the recommended resolutions used by pro players. The choice of resolution varies from player to player and depends largely on their personal comfort with the FOV.
Tenz utilizes the following display settings:
- Resolution: 1920x1080
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9
- Aspect Ratio Method: Fill
- Display Mode: Windowed Mode
On the other hand, s1mple prefers the following settings:
- Resolution: 1280x960
- Aspect Ratio: 4:3
- Scaling Mode: Stretched
- Display Mode: Full Screen
Notice the difference? Tenz adjusts the FOV through in-game settings, while s1mple chooses to modify it via the Nvidia Control Panel. S1mple's setup provides the maximum FPS possible, which is recommended for lower-end PCs.

If you're uncertain about your FOV settings, don't worry—many players find themselves in the same situation. Feel free to try out all the options and see how they work for you in practice or custom lobbies. Remember, it takes time to adapt to changes, so don't rush your decisions and take your time.
