It's time to learn the best tactics and strategies for the worst map in the game!
Whether you love or hate Fracture, it's a Valorant map we all need to play on from time to time; there is just no way around it. That said, here are the best tactics you can use to hate this map a bit less.
Fracture: Map Overview & All Callouts
Fracture is a map where the attackers can choose to capture the site from the front and behind their enemies, while the defenders could rotate in an instant through their spawn. With that said, here are all of the main Valorant Fracture callouts:
Both Fracture's A and B sites have a long side from the front while having short firing ranges from their back. So prefer to go with an Operator or a Vandal when you're going through the main site entrances while getting a Phantom if you're attacking or defending the back like A-Dish or B-Arcade.
Fracture: A Spike Site Overview & Callouts
Here are all the callouts for A Site on Fracture:
A Site on Fracture in Valorant is a bit different when you compare it to other maps since it has Heaven/Top where you can plant the spike! Albeit lots of players plant the spike at Hell, the upraised platform can still cause a problem of crossfire for both attackers and defenders with their best knife skins.
Attacking A Site on Fracture
Having a good Controller Smoker to cover the main Defender spawn points so you can take the site will do you wonders on Fracture's A Site. Once you smoke off areas like A-Link and A-Rope, all you'll have to do is defeat the hidden enemies at the planting spot on Hell and Heaven as well with flash and damage abilities.
As for post-plant on Fracture's A Site, you can defend the spike directly on-site or from A-Main. Though be careful when you're defending from A-Main as there can be an enemy flanking you! You can also notice a good spike planting spot above if you're planning on defending A Site from A-Main for Fracture.
Defending A Site on Fracture
Although you could defend A Site on Fracture from the Defender spawn locations, the enemy team can easily take control of the site with simple smokes. So what you'll want to do is stop the attackers at A-Hall and A-Main from on-site. As for enemies coming from A-Drop, there must be a player on your team defending from around A-Rope (make sure enemies won't come from Door) as that's where the location is best visible, even for Valorant beginners!
Another thing to note for Fracture's A Site is Heaven and Stairs. Both of these locations can be used for tricky plays, but both are very risky to defend from as the enemies will probably enter all at once from A-Main, leaving you vulnerable.
Fracture: B Spike Site Overview & Callouts
Here are all the callouts for B Site on Fracture:
As we saw previously, the Fracture B Site boasts short angles from B-Arcade and a long corridor for B-Main. One place that a lot of players overlook and forget the most is Arcade Pass, so keep an eye out there whenever you're playing the Vandal or Phantom!
Attacking B Site on Fracture
Your main vocal points for entry onto Fracture's B Site should be B-Link and Canteen. A simple Viper wall or other Controller smokes should clear those places. Then clearing B Site and Tower should be your priority which can be done with Initiator abilities to get info on the enemies and flash them.
You'll typically want to plant the spike at Boxes which will give you cover from the enemy team coming from Defender spawn. Then for post-plant, you can defend from B-Main and Tower. Though if you're feeling a little spicy, you can catch the enemies by surprise from the little Cubby camping space that's on-site!
Defending B Site on Fracture
When you defend the B Site on Fracture, your main goal should be to stop the enemies at B-Arcade and B-Main. Use your favorite Duelist flashes to take advantage of the enemy and stop them before they could even think of entering the site!
If the enemies somehow manage to plant the spike, your best bet is to retake the site through a flank, such as from Tower. You can retake the site from Defender spawn, but you must have decent abilities to misdirect, flash, and damage the enemies that are hiding on-site.
Fracture: Tips & Tricks
If you feel like you need some extra knowledge before jumping into the map, here are some Fracture tips and tricks to help you settle down:
- 3 players front, 2 players back: the specialty for attackers on Fracture is that you can corner the enemy team from everywhere! So as a general rule of thumb, have 3 players go through Main and 2 players through the zipline.
- Defender Flanks can pay off: did you peek Main and didn't see an enemy? Well, consider the opportunity of flanking, as you'll be quickly behind your enemies' backs compared to flanks on other maps. Though don't flank every round, you should do it every 3rd-4th round!
- Watch out when you're peeking: Fracture is built in a way that the enemies' locations are really predictable. So whenever you peek at any Main angle, be sure that if an enemy's at that location they're probably looking back at your location!
