Andor creator Tony Gilroy recently shared some new information of the second season of Andor, the prequel to the popular Star Wars Rogue One movie.
Andor season 2 has wrapped up filming and the series is going to be added to Disney+ pretty soon. Recently, creator Tony Gilroy was invited to speak at the Writers Guild of America East, where he also revealed some information on the upcoming season, even going as far as to call it one of the most important works of his career.
That's some big words from the creator himself, but what exactly does he mean?
Star Wars: Andor Creator Talks About Series' Second Season
While the second season of Andor doesn't have a release date yet, the show has concluded filming, which could mean that the series isn't far out from release. The show's creator, Tony Gilroy, also revealed that he has truly enjoyed working on the project throughout the last 5 years.
The first season came out in 2022 with 12 episodes, and another 12 are in the works for the second season. The show is meant to bring viewers right to the start of Star Wars Rogue One, telling the story of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and how he ends up fighting against the empire.

I’ve had a lot of fun over the years, but I don’t know whether I’ve ever done anything as important as these 24 hours of storytelling we’re doing now. I don’t know if it’s just ‘cause it’s a thing I’m on, but I don’t think so. I’ve never had a chance to work this big before.
Gilroy is very thankful to the team and the world of Star Wars, it seems. Andor season 1 had high audience and critic ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, so the second season has some big shoes to fill. But with the cast and Gilroy at the helm, the series will likely continue to hit some big highs.
