A new Star Wars series called Tales of the Empire is coming out on May 4th. The reveal trailer gives us a good taster for what fans can expect.
After the success of shows like Clone Wars and Bad Batch, another animated Star Wars show is set to release on Disney+. Tales of the Empire even releases on the Star Wars day, May the fourth. And yes, I wrote that out for good reason.
Tales of the Empire is set to follow in the footsteps of the miniseries Tales of the Jedi, which came out in 2022 and told stories centered around Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku in six short episodes. The new show is set to follow the same format, with all six new shorts dropping simultaneously on May 4.
Tales of the Empire Will Illuminate The Dark Side Of The Force
However, the focus will be quite different. Instead of showing us more about the Jedi, Tales of the Empire is switching to the dark side of the force. The show will focus on Morgan Elsbeth, a dedicated follower of Grand Admiral Thrawn and Barriss Offee, a Jedi-turned-Sith who was an ally to Ahsoka Tano, before turning to the dark side and betraying her.
Fans of the franchise will know Elsbeth from the live-action Ahsoka series, while Offee’s most prominent role was in season two of The Clone Wars.
“Star Wars: Tales of the Empire” is a six-episode journey into the fearsome Galactic Empire through the eyes of two warriors on divergent paths, set during different eras. After losing everything, young Morgan Elsbeth navigates the expanding Imperial world toward a path of vengeance, while former Jedi Barriss Offee does what she must to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. The choices they make will define their destinies.“
