Lord of the Rings is getting an animated movie. That isn't the news though, instead it seems that it's finally been confirmed for a release in 2024.
The Lord of the Rings will be getting its own anime adaptation in 2024 and at this year's CinemaCon, some news on the project was finally revealed. After news came in 2023 that the movie had been delayed, it seems that the producers have finally settled on a release.
Step aside Rings of Power. It's time that a new Lord of the Rings piece of media takes all the attention and it seems like Lord of the Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim could be the movie to take viewer's breath away.
Tower of God Anime Studio Working On Hand Drawn LotR Anime
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is an upcoming anime film, currently in development by Sola Studio, who also created the series Tower of God in 2020, as well as The God of High School. It seems that since then, the production company has been hard at work to create the perfect style for the upcoming Lord of the Rings anime.
In June 2021 the anime was announced and there hasn't been too much information since then. The movie was supposed to release in April 2024, but was pushed back, leaving fans wondering whether it will even release. Well, now at the most recent CinemaCon, during the Warner Bros. panel, it was revealed that the movie should release in December 2024.
The story will follow Helm Hammerhand who was a legendary King of Rohan. He will have to defend his land against an army of Dinlendings. He's also who Helm's Deep is named after. The story will also play around 200 years before the events of the original Lord of the Rings saga .
The plot sounds pretty interesting and with a unique 2D art style giving it an old hand-drawn style, as was previously revealed by producer Jason DeMarco, this is going to be a very unique and interesting movie to watch.
