Dexter is making a return to television. While the last attempt of a Dexter spinoff failed, the new idea could be much better with a prequel series coming to streaming services and TV soon.
Dexter is returning to television. Everyone's favorite psychotic serial killer will be featured in a prequel series once more, and recent images have revealed what Dexter has looked like when he was young. Sure, we knew from the original series, but gone is the swoopy emo bangs from the 2010s and instead, we've got a clean-cut serial killer on our hands.
So, what do we know about the upcoming series Dexter: Original Sin? Let's check out the actors, as well as the release window for this upcoming show.
Dexter: Original Sin Cast
Michael C. Hall will not be reprising his role as Dexter in the prequel. Obviously. Dexter: Original Sin plays years before the series Dexter and it wouldn't make sense to have the same cast from 10 years ago part of the show this time around. Instead, a new and younger actor has been cast to play Dexter Morgan, our favorite serial killer.
- Patrick Gibson as Dexter Morgan
- Christian Slater as Harry Morgan
- Molly Brown as Debra Morgan
- Sarach Michelle Gellar as Tanya Martin
Release Date For Dexter: Original Sin
The cast for the Dexter prequel has some pretty big names attached to it and recently images for the show have also been revealed to the public, showing off Dexter's new – or rather old – look. Unfortunately, an exact release date for the show has not been revealed yet. But the series should be airing sometime in 2024.
Possible Plot For Dexter: Original Sin
The plot for the series is pretty straightforward. For anyone who is a fan of Dexter, they should know that the character didn't just randomly become a serial killer. So, the plot of the show will showcase how Dexter Morgan became the avenging killer he is in the original show.
It'll be an interesting show to follow for sure, and the cast looks extremely promising with a cool premise. Will you be following Dexter: Original Sin once it releases?
