One Piece live-action star revealed his new tattoo and what is special about it.
Taz Skylar recently revealed the meaning behind his new tattoo. He is known for his role as Sanji, the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, in the live-action adaptation of One Piece.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Serieously, the actor talked about his special encounter with the author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda. Skylar was honored to receive a tattoo design crafted by Oda himself, a moment that holds immense value for him as a big fan of the series. The knowledge that the tattoo was personally designed by the mastermind behind One Piece adds an extra layer of significance to Skylar's appreciation of his new ink.
Taz Skylar: The Meaning Of The Tattoo
One Piece is a popular manga and anime series that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy, also known as 'Straw Hat Luffy' aims to find the legendary One Piece and become the King of the Pirates. During their journey through the Grand Line, they encounter numerous enemies and friends and uncover hidden secrets and treasures.
During an interview, Skylar disclosed that he had been considering getting a One Piece tattoo for some time. Given Eiichiro Oda's role as the executive producer of the live-action show, Skylar was inspired to directly request a tattoo design from the artist.
Oda graciously accepted the request and crafted a unique design for him. The design features a small figure symbolically resembling a skull, with the body of the figure molded into the shape of the letter "E," representing 'One Piece.' It looks fantastic!
I thought Eiichiro Oda drawing a tattoo for Taz was awesome, but every part of the figure's body spelled ONE PIECE?! Mind blowing Now I can see the "E" on the chest!#OPLA #Sanji https://t.co/wvNvMG8CC0 pic.twitter.com/skzftkOmxG

In an Instagram post, he further elaborates on the significance of the tattoo for him:
I finally got my One Piece Tattoo. And I got it in the same way I’ve gotten all my tattoos… By randomly walking in to a cool shop in the middle of a new town and finding a pure soul, with whom i want to sit down for a few hours, to etch a memory on my skin.
The location of the tattoo carries particular importance as well. Skylar chose to place it on his leg as a tribute to his character Sanji in the live-action show, known for utilizing his feet as his primary weapon.
Regarding the second season of the live-action One Piece series, an official release date has yet to be announced. However, the actor portraying Monkey D. Luffy has already provided some hints.
We are truly impressed and thrilled by the tattoo, especially knowing that it was personally designed by Eiichiro Oda. Who is your favorite character from the series? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
