After League of Legends players complained that Vanguard was destroying their PCs, Riot has now denied the accusations.
Vanguard has just been added to League of Legends with the latest update, and players immediately started accusing the software of allegedly bricking their PC's.
Riot has now replied to the accusations, suggesting that LoL players seem to be crying for nothing.
Riot Denies Vanguard Bricking Anyone's Hardware
After Riot Game's own anti cheat software was added to League of Legends with update patch 14.9, the game received a massive backlash by its player base.
Countless players were claiming that Vanguard was slowing down or even bricking their PCs.
@RiotSupport Hey, I have an issue with new League of Legend x Vanguard, I had no problem until this 14.9 and the adding of Vanguard as an anti-cheat for LoL. But now here is what it tells me, I double checked everything, uninstalled LoL, Vanguard, restarted PCWhat do I do ? pic.twitter.com/Q4rD0xZs33

Now Riot has commented on the accusations on Reddit, saying that it does not seem like Vanguard is bricking anyone's hardware.
"(...) fewer than 0.03% of players have reported issues with Vanguard. In most cases, these are common error codes"
"(...) we have not confirmed any instances of Vanguard bricking anyone’s hardware, but we want to encourage anyone who's having issues to contact Player Support."
The backlash Riot has received for adding Vanguard has been immense, with some players even labelling the anti-cheat software as malware.
Now that Riot has officially denied the allegations, who do we believe? Is it a case of LoL players being mad that they can't cheat anymore? Or is Riot just not admitting to their mistakes.
We will have to see if this problem remains in the future and whether Riot will make any changes.
