Medieval strategy meets unexpected guests. Just days after its PC debut, modders have already made their mark in Manor Lords by introducing none other than Shrek as a playable character.
The medieval real-time strategy game Manor Lords hit PC screens at the end of April, and within a week, modders did what had to be done first: they introduced Shrek as a playable character.
Shrek Storms The Medieval Swamps
Thanks to developer NorskPL on Nexus Mods, the beloved ogre can now roam the medieval swamps, erm, towns in Manor Lords' Visit mode. While Shrek's presence may break the immersion for some, his inclusion feels surprisingly fitting for the game's setting.
While Slavic Magic, the developer behind Manor Lords, hasn't officially committed to mod support, the game's popularity on Steam suggests that players are eager to expand the experience themselves. This is what happens when you don't get out of my swamp pic.twitter.com/uDALYp2ruL

Shrek is just the beginning of the modding frenzy. NorskPl's other highlights include playing as The Witcher's Geralt or Kingdom Come: Deliverance's Henry.
