The script of the new Live-Action Naruto movie has been written, and the team says they have put a lot of focus on the nuanced characters of the world.
A live-action Naruto movie is currently in the works, and the script has now been written. We don't have a release date yet, but the creators have spoken about their approach in developing this new version of Naruto.
Naruto – A “Nuanced And Special” Story
Tasha Huo, the script-writer of the Naruto movie, answered some questions about the film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. In the interview, she revealed that she has now finished the script and given it to Destin Daniel Cretton, who will direct the movie.
Cretton is known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Just Mercy. Huo says that she trusts Cretton and is excited about the direction he will take the movie in.
She also said that the movie will focus more on Naruto as a character, rather than getting lost in the vast universe.
I think that’s such a cool choice because he’s going to be able to capture how nuanced and special Naruto is without getting distracted by the big world that it is, which I think could easily be done by someone who’s not a fan or someone who’s coming in for a cash payday.
The creator of the manga, Masashi Kishimoto, has also given Cretton his blessing.
When I heard of Destin’s attachment, it happened to be right after watching a blockbuster action film of his, and I thought he would be the perfect director for NARUTO
So, I guess it looks like all the pieces are in place for this movie to be a success, but you never really know with live-action anime adaptations...
