LoL Arena is the new game mode that will be introduced for the Soul Fighter Summer event in 2023. This game mode is a new and fun way to experience League of Legends, while also giving players a competitive experience that'll make them keep coming back.

So, to be competitive you'll need items and if you're wondering when and how to buy them, then you've come to the right place. Because we're going to go over items in the new game mode Arena.

When To Buy Items in Arena

First of all let's go over when you need to buy items in Arena. Similar to TFT, where you've got carousel rounds in which players pick up champions, as well as items or item components, there will be buy rounds in Arena as well.

In these rounds players will be able to spend their saved up gold on items, as well as brand-new things Riot have called "juices". Sounds like steroids and well... these juices sort of work like them as well.

How To Get Gold In Arena

Getting Gold in Arena is simple... it's given to you. For the first two rounds players are given 1000 Gold to purchase boots, as well as starter items according to the blog post from Riot in which they go over Arena.

For the first two buy phases, each player gets 1000 gold to buy a starter item and then boots. Technically you could choose either, but the starter items are R E A L G O O D and we highly recommend grabbing these first in most cases.

In the following buy phases, players will be given 3000 Gold so they can buy completed items. Yes, you read that right, completed items. There are no item components in Arena, only completed and full items for everyone to pick up.

Riot have adjusted the items accordingly to make them each cost 3000 Gold.

Lack Of "Snowballing" In Arena

One thing that was also noted in the blog post was the snowballing is not something that will necessarily get you ahead. Yes, winning combat rounds is better, but unlike in League of Legends where you can simply run over teams after a good early game, Arena won't give you that chance.

By dominating early laning, you gain a lot of control over how the game plays out and force your opponent to try and pick up scraps elsewhere. But in Arena, there is no elsewhere.

Since players only fight, the team decided to try and make these fights as even as possible, with also small rewards being given out to players who do win fights and get kills. Those rewards are called "Juices".

What Are "Juices" In LoL Arena?

Something new that has been added to Arena are "Juices". While players will have the same amount of Gold for the item buy rounds, there are ways that players can get rewarded for killing and taking down enemies.

For each kill players will receive 350 Gold. Then before a round, players who have accumulated at least 700 Gold can purchase "Juices" which are elixirs that will give their champion a boost for one round – see just like steroids.

You can buy up to one of each type of Juice per round if you want to go all in. Or, if you want to play dangerously, you can save up the gold entirely to try and earn enough to hit your item spike one round early.

You can also save up the money if you want and then use it to purchase multiple items at once.

This is everything you need to know about items in the new game mode Arena in League of Legends. Hopefully you'll understand and be able to win your first few rounds of this fun and unique new game mode.
