Recent findings about the upcoming Horizon MMO have revealed that the development process has officially begun, but much to our surprise not for PlayStation 5.
It seems like the Horizon MMO, made by NCSoft, is now in development. A video game researcher on Twitter/X has just shared some interesting findings on the upcoming MMORPG, based on LinkedIn job listings and other leaks.
Horizon MMO Is Apparently In Development
A self-proclaimed video game researcher on Twitter/X has just shared their findings on the NCSoft Horizon MMORPG. By going through the job listing of an NCSoft employee, they found out that the MMO must already be in development, running under the codename "Project Skyline". According to the project description, it is currently under development in Unreal Engine 5.
Besides that, they also found out for which platforms the game is being developed. Much to our surprise, it seems like they are currently only working on a Mobile and PC version, and not for console. Considering that Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West have been PlayStation exclusives for the longest time, it as a big surprise that the MMO isn't developed for PS5, at least not for now.
NCSoft recently registered a domain, which might reveal the name of the upcoming MMO. The domain appeared with the title "Land of Salvation", which doesn't refer to any other NCSoft titles. Therefore, the game could potentially have the name "Horizon: Land of Salvation" – Sounds good, right?
When Could The Horizon MMO Release?
According to the game researcher, the game is expected to launch some time after Aion 2, which is another big MMO title by NCSoft. Since Aion 2 is scheduled to release until 2025, we hope to expect the Horizon MMO in 2026.
