Grand Theft Auto VI has now been officially announced. And as you would expect for the reveal of GTA 6, fans have been sent into an absolute frenzy.
It goes without saying that GTA 6 was always going to happen. Grand Theft Auto V is one of the best-selling video game of all time (second only to Minecraft), and GTA Online has become a phenomenon in itself.
But this announcement has nevertheless broken the internet because it's the first official word on GTA 6. We did get a bunch of leaked GTA 6 material in 2022 when a 17-year-old hacked Rockstar, but it's not the same as a bona fide reveal.
Grand Theft Auto VI Is Now Official!
Enough waffling, here is Rockstar's announcement:
Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about. pic.twitter.com/YaAxRVfZGe

Yep, when Jason Schreier claimed on November 8 that this reveal was coming, he was not lying (unlike all the other GTA 6 "leakers" who said we should expect a trailer in October).
Sadly there was no official release date mentioned in the reveal, but this was to be expected. If you're curious, Microsoft predict that GTA 6 will be released in 2024, but we think 2025 is more likely.
We're quite sure that a marketing campaign like nothing you've ever seen before is on the way. There's still plenty of time for new and longer trailers to be released, and Rockstar can reveal the release date and show us some gameplay then. We cannot wait.
