What does everyone love the most in RPGs? Of course... a great character creator. And that is what we seem to get with Starfield, the next game by Bethesda. Todd Howard, head honcho at Bethesda and overall meme king, talked shop about the highly-anticipated SciFi-RPG and revealed, that you will be able to create non-binary characters... a first for the company!

Starfield Will Let You Create Non-Binary Characters

In a new Reddit AMA, Howard faced some fans and answered some burning questions on the upcoming RPG Starfield. Among the questions was this:

Will The Character Creation In Starfield Be More Complicated, Like It Was In Morrowind And Oblivion?

And Todd Howard, the non-bullshitter and straight shooter that he is, gave a great answer:

Really excited about what the team has done with character creation here. Including choosing background, skills, etc. You also can pick your pronoun (he, she, they) and we've recorded all the relevant dialogue to support that choice.

So yes, Starfield will have a big character creator and will let you create non-binary characters. That's pretty neat! And while I was joking a bit earlier, a cool character creator is actually always a lot of fun to play around with. And seeing the choice of non-binary pronouns becoming more and more common in games like this is great as well.

But ok, once again Todd Howard is excited about a feature in a game we have basically seen nothing of – been there, done that. The inclusion of non-binary people is, like I said, really cool. And having the dialogue change according to that is also nice. But choosing background and skills? Come on, Todd, I need a bit more than that. And hopefully Starfield will give us a bit more than that, anything else would be disappointing...

But this is pretty good news and does make me more excited for Starfield. Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned Bethesda RPG? There is a lot of excitement about this game, and it could be one of Bethesda's biggest games yet, so it's good to hear they are putting in the effort to include as many people as possible and create a fun and diverse character creator.
