Did you think Remedy Entertainment had given up on developing Alan Wake II? Far from it, as they've created an immersive game for you and we've got the break down below.
Remedy Entertainment is returning to the world of Alan Wake, except this time, we’re going to New York City and Bright Falls. This upcoming sequel for next-generation consoles promises to provide terrifying gameplay that will shock players. But what’s different between Alan Wake II and the original? You’d be surprised.
Remedy Entertainment has stated that they’ve designed Alan Wake II as an original reboot with an emphasis on exploration and mystery. Therefore, this sequel will focus more on the storyline than the gameplay, and that’s a positive. It means the environments we explore will give the storyline greater detail and meaning.
Alan Wake II will send players through a demonic version of New York City while also sending everyone back to the infamous Bright Falls. Along the way, we’ll experience various motifs throughout the horror genre. It won’t be purely jump scares in Alan Wake II; you can expect an entirely different level of fear.
But until Alan Wake II is released, let’s find out what will be available with the PC version of this survival-horror game.
When Is Alan Wake 2 Coming To The PC?
Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that additional time will be needed to develop Alan Wake II. The sequel isn’t expected to arrive on next-generation consoles before 2023. Inside sources have estimated anywhere between Q2-Q3 2023, but this is speculative.
More information on the release date is slated to arrive this summer. Remedy Entertainment had confirmed they would provide additional details on Alan Wake II by E3 2022. However, the cancellation of E3 2022 has changed their plans and schedule. Now we’re unsure of when another announcement will be coming. Either way, it’s been confirmed that Alan Wake II is arriving on PC and the Xbox Series X/S.
Which PC Features Will Alan Wake 2 Have?
Remedy Entertainment hasn’t detailed the PC features that will be included in Alan Wake II. Despite their lack of communication, it’s almost guaranteed that these features will be supported in this upcoming sequel.
- 120 FPS
- RTX Lighting
- Xbox Cloud Saves
- Steam Cloud Saved
Remedy Entertainment may introduce Vulkan API and NVAPI for Alan Wake II. If this were to happen, visual improvements could continually be made for the 2nd Alan Wake. We’ll maintain the strongest graphics allowed, as RTX lighting and fragment shadings can be upgraded. This will also apply to the timeline semaphores.
Is Alan Wake 2 Coming To The Steam Deck?
There’s a good chance that anyone owning a Steam Deck will be capable of playing Alan Wake II. However, you’ll need to port Alan Wake II from the Epic Games Store. Don’t worry; we’re about to break it down for anyone that doesn’t know how to complete this process.
- Download the Epic Games Store (EpicInstaller-13.0.0.msi.)
- Save to the System Downloads Folder.
- Launch the desktop version of Steam.
- Click the Top Menu and select the game's option.
- Add a non-steam game to the content library.
- The pop-up window will appear with the EpicInstaller-13.0.0.msi.
Game Trailer
Remedy Entertainment announced Alan Wake II with an incredible trailer that starts with Bright Falls and then quickly moves towards New York City, the new location. What’s surprising is that within a few moments, Remedy manages to create an ominous & terrifying environment.
What we didn’t expect was the updated look for Alan Wake, who resembles someone like Keanu Reeves from John Wick. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing! It’s been eleven years, and Alan isn’t the young man we once knew; he’s a hardened adult that won’t stop at anything to accomplish his goals.
