Halo Infinite to Receive Massive Stability Update on Launch

As Halo Infinite's official launch gets closer, news has surfaced of a massive stability update due to release on-launch.

Halo Infinite runs pretty well, but being a relatively new title that's still in its Beta, it has stability problems from time to time. Often the game will believe that it is not connected to the internet, stopping you from play matches, and there are a variety of different problems that rear their ugly face from time to time. Thus, the fact that 343 Industries will be releasing a major stability update with the game's launch, is a good one.

It is hardly a surprise that some major changes are coming to the game, considering that Halo Infinite's Multiplayer is still in Beta, after seeing a surprise release in mid-November. We don't know the exact details, of course, but we do know that when the campaign drops on December 8, we will see a big update that's set to fix a number of problems.

Before we dive into how we know this, we want to first give 343 Industries a little bit of kudos for releasing Halo Infinite in the state that it has been released. It is unbelievable how well the game runs, and the quality of the experience despite it still being in Beta, and we will even be getting a number of new modes by the end of the year. There are a few bugs, some of which we have already covered, and a couple of very serious faults in the game (such as the fact that you can't choose the maps and modes you want to play). For the most part, though, the developers should be proud of the product they have already shipped.

Huge Stability Update Coming to Halo Infinite

Following stability issues, the Halo Esports and Viewership Lead at 343 Industries took to Twitter, claiming the the game will get a significant performance update on December 8. The confirmation came after a significant Esports Tournament ran into a few issues with game performance. Additionally, fans have been talking about stability problems since launch, though the issues are nowhere near as widespread as with games like Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Tashi, who works as Halo Esports and Viewership Lead over at 343 Industries / Microsoft, came out with a Twitter Statement to thank fans for sticking through Halo Infinite's rough patches, saying "Thank you to the fans for sticking around, the players for gutting it out, and the production/staff/HCS team for finishing strong, and the talent for the absolutely heroic effort." HCS stands for Halo Championship Series, the aforementioned Esport event.

In response to a fan, who asked about how the game's patches were progression, Tashi made the following statement:

So there you have it, it's not just the campaign you have to look forward to when the Halo Infinite Campaign drops, but a big update that will address stability as well. This is no surprise. After all, Halo Infinite was in Beta, the perfect way to bug fix the game and address problem areas that need fixing before a full-scale release.

What was more surprising, really, was the game's initial release in November. We strongly believe that there are some features missing from Halo Infinite's Multiplayer - a map, the ability to select your game mode and map, etc. - but 343 Industries have already fixed some pretty major problems that were discovered with the Battle Pass. We're pretty bloody confident that they're onto it, so let's cross our fingers and look forward to this release-day update.
