The Ultima Weapon is a staple in the Final Fantasy series, so obviously Final Fantasy 16 has one as well. Unlocking it is quite tricky though and asks quite a bit of you. We’ll show you how to do it.

How To Craft The Final Fantasy 16 Ultima Weapon

The Ultima Weapon first needs to be unlocked and you do that by finishing the game, which unlocks New Game+ and a new, harder difficulty called “Final Fantasy”. Starting New Game+ allows you to craft the Ultima Weapon at Cid’s Hideaway.

To do this, you’ll need three rare materials:

  • 1 Ragnarok: Complete the four “Blacksmith Blues” side quests, which you find in Cid’s Hideaway
  • 1 Utterance of Creation: Will be in your inventory once you start New Game+
  • 3 Ultima Weapon Crafting Material: You will acquire this while playing the main story

Getting the Ragnarok can take quite a while, as the side quest chain stretches out through large chunks of the game. You could speed up this process by not upgrading the Ragnarok during your first playthrough, thus taking it into New Game+.
