Diablo 4 is great! At least what we got to play during the Beta was pretty awesome so far. We like the new skill tree, the classes are all a lot of fun, and the shared world isn't as bad as I thought it would be...

Besides the shared world events and the cool new dungeons that unlock your aspects, the one new feature I liked the most were the Strongholds. These are harder shared world events that unlock new parts of the map.

To make sure you guys get the most out of Diablo 4, we will explain where to find all three Strongholds in the Fractured Peaks are and also how to complete them. Here we go!

Oh, before I forget, all Strongholds will always be at least two levels above your character level and therefore pretty hard, so it is recommended to face them in co-op.

Diablo 4: Where To Find All Three Strongholds in Fractured Peaks

In the starting area of Diablo 4 called Fractured Peaks you can find a total of three different Strongholds, which are marked by a red skull on the map. Since we already completed all of them, we marked their locations with red circles for you:

You can complete the Strongholds in whatever order you want, we just numbered them to make it easier to explain. Here are the names of the Strongholds in Fractured Peaks:

  1. Malnok Stronghold
  2. Nostrava Stronghold
  3. Kor Dragan Stronghold

How To Complete The Malnok Stronghold

To complete this Stronghold, you need to defeat the big Khazra boss in the middle of the settlement, who is surrounded by ice barricades. However, you can't just walk up to him and fight him.

To be able to face the boss, you first need to kill three Ice Clan Stormcallers, that are marked with white skulls on the map. You can also see where they are by following their Ice spells that they cast on the big boss.

After you killed all three mini bosses, you are able to enter the arena with the huge Khazra boss. Be aware of his ice magic that will slow you or even freeze you in place and the guy does huge amounts of damage, so keep moving.

After defeating the boss, human NPCs will return to the settlement. Even though this specific settlement doesn't unlock a new waypoint, you will still have access to a blacksmith, healer and merchants

How To Complete Nostrava Stronghold

The Nostrava Stronghold appears to be just an abandoned settlement. To start the conquest, you need to head to the church and speak to the priestess inside.

After you spoke to the priestess, the villagers will start to attack you. From now on, your task is to roam the village and search the abandoned houses for Demonic Effigies that you need to destroy.

Make your way through the settlement and deal with all enemies and effigies. Once all the Demonic Effegies have been destroyed, you have to return to the church and face the priestess, who turns out to be the boss Negala, Lilith's Chosen.

Just deal as much damage as possible until you deplete her health bar by one third. Now, Negala will summon two more succubi to fight alongside her. Evade their projectiles and deal as much damage as possible, ranged attacks will come in handy here.

After you defeated Negala, interact with the shrine near the church and NPCs will return to the village. This will unlock a new Waypoint as well as merchants, blacksmith and a new dungeon.

How To Complete Kor Dragan Stronghold

Kor Dragan is a fort overrun by vampires in the north of Fractured Peaks. To complete it you need to destroy three Vampiric Incubators (the big blood-bubble-meta-pile-thingies) and then defeat a hard boss called Nilcar, the Forgotten Bishop.

However, as always, it isn't that straight forward. To be able to damage the Vampiric Incubators, you first have to destroy three smaller Vampiric Corruptions for each Incubator. To find those, just follow the veins that creep out from the Incubators.

While destroying the Corruptions and Incubators, you will constantly be attacked by enemies, so make sure you have some good AoE or crowd control skills equipped.

After destroying all three Incubators, move up north to the boss arena and face Nilcar, the Forgotten Bishop. Be aware that the boss will summon three mini bosses to help him, one appears every time you have dealt a specific amount of damage to Nilcar.

You can't kill these mini bosses, but just deplete their health so they are stunned. They can be "revived" by Nilcar at any time though, so try to focus all your damage on Nilcar and evade his adds as much as possible.

After you defeat the boss, you won't unlock a waypoint or any merchants, but only a single campfire. You can interact with the campfire to get an EXP bonus. On top of that, there is now a chance of the Gathering Legions world event to appear in this area. Completing this event grants you a chance to obtain the rare Ghastly Reins Mount as a reward from the chest at the end of the event.

And that's all there is to the Strongholds in Fractured Peaks. What do you think about the Stronghold mechanic in Diablo IV ? We really like it and feel it's a nice additional activity with some cool rewards.
