Diablo 3: New Single Player Mode Finally Announced
As of today, the latest patch for Diablo is in the testing mode until August 29, 2023, giving players the chance to take a look at new features or balance changes. But it's safe to say, that all eyes are on the newly added "Solo Self Found mode", the new single player mode which was highly requested by many over the years.
According to the official blizzard website, where the patch preview was revealed, the company states,
We decided to bring Solo Self Found to Diablo III after years of players requesting an officially supported single player mode. Without the experience bonus from being in a Party, or other players to protect your back as you carve through demonic legions, this mode will temper you. To celebrate the accomplishments of those brave enough to roll a character in this mode, we have also created specific Leaderboards for Solo Self Found. These Leaderboards function like those for other modes.
So, after a decade of existing, there will be finally a solo campaign for players to enjoy without all the multiplayer functions and components. Also, the leaderboard sounds very interesting. According to the preview, the creation of a Solo character doesn't differ from the other ones, all you have to do, is to select the Solo Hero option in the creation screen.
Also, this option won't change anything in regard to the story or the missions within the Diablo 3 campaign,
You’ll still be able to play the Campaign and Adventure Mode just as you would in other modes, but only the Private Game option will be available to use. Challenge Rifts can be completed with a Party while the mode is seasonal. Solo Self Found is a solitary journey, so you will be unable to start this mode while in a Party or access Multiplayer aspects of Diablo III, such as trading. Rebirthing is available for Solo Self Found.
The developers also add, that all the new changes, which are coming up with the new patch, were already designed "with Solo Self Found in mind". So players can expect that all new features and the newly added content is also functional in the new game mode. Now, the devs want to use the testing phase and gather as much player feedback as possible.
