Word Games are any game or contest involving skill in using, forming, guessing, or changing words or expressions. They revolve mostly around guessing the correct word of the day, based on clues given in your playthroughs.

According to Houston Methodist, studies have shown that Word Games can improve cognition, memory, and sleep, as well as reduce anxiety and depression. All of these, of course, directly correlate to mental health.

The ones we find the most fun, and have the most daily players of all, can be found on our list!

Wordle

Starting off our list, we have Wordle, a game designed by Welsh software engineer Josh Wardle, and which has since grown to such popularity that it was bought and is now managed by the New York Times!

Wordle is a daily puzzle game that offers players six chances to guess a five-letter word, with each guess giving additional hints if the correct letters were used! It's a surefire way of increasing your lexicon of words and a good brain teaser for a groggy morning mind!

Wordle is completely free to play and can be found at the NYT index of games! And, if you find any difficulties in landing the correct answer, we always have your back with daily Wordle answers!

Nerdle

Inspired by Wordle, Nerdle is its number equivalent, where players are tasked with finding the correct equation of the day, using the same format of hints with each try.

Each equation follows the standard order of operations, and must have "=" followed by a single number to its right! For those who like the premise of Wordle, but are more mathematically inclined, Nerdle is the Daily Puzzle Game to go!

Nerdle is completely free to play, and can be found at theNerdle website! Some days, the equations get quite difficult, and we are here to give you a hand with our daily Nerdle hints and answers!

LoLdle

For the millions of worldwide League of Legends players, a dedicated League of Legends word game has been established by an enterprising League fan.

This daily puzzle game has us guessing League of Legends champions based on their characteristics, in-game quotes, abilities, emoji equivalents, and skin splash art.

With more than a hundred thousand daily players, the puzzle game has grown in popularity, and can be played for free at the LoLdle website! For the days that the champion answers are not the ones you main, feel free to check out our Daily LoLdle answers, to help you along!

Octordle

The connection between Octordle and any other word game on our list, is the same as it is between chess and 3D chess. Octordle is a Daily Word Puzzle game that has players guessing eight word games at once. Hence the name!

For those of you who find games like Wordle a bit too easy, Octordle will surely get those neurons firing off at a maximum rate! In addition, Octordle offers multiple game modes, that range from practice games, to those where the computer intentionally sabotages your game, to make it difficult!

Octrodle is completely free to play, and you can do so at Britannica's Octordle index! However, more often than not, the game proves to be too challenging, especially for those just starting out, so we offer you our help in the form of daily Octordle hints, clues and answers, to fall back on!

Semantle

For the players that like to add more depth to their word games, Semantle is the Daily Word Puzzle game that has players search for the daily word semantically.

Instead of finding words via hints through spelling, words are categorized, as the creator of the game explains, by "used in the context of similar words, in a database of news articles."

This puzzle game encourages out-of-the-box thinking, with clues such as the word "raid" or "steal", ultimately leading players to guessing the word of the day, which is "illegal"!

The game is free to play on its own Semantle website, and we are more than happy to help you along with daily Semantle hints, clues, and answers if you experience any difficulty!

NYT Spelling Bee

The New York Times has invested heavily into their daily word games, with each one posing just enough of a challenge to be interesting, without becoming a chore to play through.

The NYT Spelling Bee is a prime example, where players are given 7 letters arranged in a beeswax pattern, to mix and match, and create words. The caveat is that the middle letter must be present at least one in every word!

The NYT Spelling Bee can be found on its own game index of the New York Times, and we offer daily NYT Spelling Bee clues and answers to push your expertise along!

Waffle

What better way to enjoy your breakfast waffles, than with a word game named after the dish? Waffle is a word game where six words are arranged in the shape of a waffle, with their letters mixed up, and players have 15 moves to put them all in their right place!

To prove just how popular the game has become, Waffle offers daily and weekly puzzles, as well as some premium ones. The game itself is free-to-play and can be found on its own Waffle website, and is kept going by player donations.

For those of you who start panicking once the number of swaps diminishes, you can always ask us for daily Waffle clues and answers!

Word Hurdle

For the extreme fans of the premise Wordle brought to the world, we present Word Hurdle. Here, players have six tries to guess a six-letter word, using the same tactics you would employ while playing Wordle.

The one advantage of Word Hurdle, however, is that it resets twice a day, with morning and afternoon words to guess, offering us the potential for double the fun!

Word Hurdle can be found on the Word Hurdle website, and in the same way that Word Hurdle is free to play so are the Daily Word Hurdle clues and answers we prepare to give you a hand!

Contexto

In the wake of the rise of AI, employing them to categorize words by a set standard is only to be expected. As the tooltip explains, the AI algorithm analyzed thousands of texts.

It uses the context in which words are used to calculate the similarity between them, placing the secret word in the first place, the guessing of which is the goal in Contexto.

The game itself requires players to think in a similar manner to Semantle, so the Ceontexto is a good game for the players who are fans of Semantle themselves!

It's a free-to-play game that can be found on the Contexto website, but it can be tricky to guess the word and keep your streak going. Whenever you're in danger of that happening, you can turn to our Daily Contexto clues, hints, and answers!

Framed

For all the movie lovers out there, Framed is the best daily puzzle game made! It involves 6 scenes with 6 guesses to guess the movie of the day, with the scenes becoming progressively more obvious with each wrong guess.

However, with so many movies in circulation, it can be quite difficult to guess the correct movie each time! If such a time comes when playing Framed, check out our Daily Framed hints, clues, and answers for reference!

Jumble

The Chicago Tribune is no slouch when it comes to Daily Word Games, and their Daily Word Puzzle Jumble is one that incorporates drawings, wordplay and humor each day!

Players are given four scrambled words to guess, which in turn provide clues for the wordplay syntagm as the final guess, alongside a comic that provides humorous context where said syntagm is the pun of a joke!

Daily Jumble can be played for free at the Chicago Tribune fun index, while we offer our own Daily Jumble hints and answers, in case the words are a bit too convoluted for you!

Quordle

In the same way that Octordle has us guessing eight words at once, Quordle is a Daily Word Puzzle game that has players guessing four words at once, following the same rules. Hence the name!

It's a good transition into the more complicated word games, while also not being too difficult as to become a daily chore instead of a pastime!

Quordle can be played for free at the Merriam Webster Quordle site, and offers daily and weekly challenges, as well as a practice sequence!

If you're still gaining experience in playing the game, however, and need a helping hand, check out our Daily Quordle hints and answers, to boost your streak!
