Blizzard Accidentally Locks Half The Hero Roster In Overwatch 2

While trying to fix a few bugs in Overwatch 2, Blizzard accidentally locked a good number of heroes for many players. What is going on?

Even now, a full week after release, Overwatch 2 is full of bugs and glitches. Hence, Blizzard is having to work day and night to fix all the issues in the game. But unfortunately, while trying to fix Bastions glitched ultimate and the various Torbjörn bugs, they accidentally locked several heroes. Excuse me Blizzard... But how does this happen by accident?

Multiple Overwatch 2 Heroes Locked

Recently Blizzard announced an hour-long maintenance, probably to remove Bastion and Torbjörn from several game-modes due to glitches and bugs. They are currently working on those issues but apparently, while doing so, they didn't just lock Bastion and Torbjörn from some game-modes... they locked half the hero roster.

The start of Overwatch 2 is a mess, and it seems like Blizzard can't do anything right anymore, because this issue is just one of many. People have had issues connecting to the game servers, some Overwatch accounts have failed to merge together, and when they try to solve these problems, they're creating new ones.

Yesterday, many people on Twitter reported that after the server maintenance, half their heroes were suddenly locked and when trying to select one of those heroes a text would pop up, saying that they can unlock them "via special challenge, battle pass or in-game shop". The heroes that are unavailable to many players right now are D.Va, Doomfist, Roadhog, Sigma, Wrecking Ball, Ashe, Cassidy, Echo, Genji, Hanzo, Junkrat, Mei, Sombra, Symmetra, Torbjörn, Ana, Baptiste, Brigitte, Kiriko and Zenyatta. At this time (October 11), Blizzard had removed Bastion from the roster.

Apparently, for some people this issue has already resolved itself, but if your heroes are still locked, you should try relogging into the game and maybe check for available updates. Otherwise, all you can do at this point is wait until Blizzard has found a solution.
