Valve Corporation hasn't announced anything for a long time. Now they are back with Aperture Desk Job - a free game of all things.
Valve hasn't released a new game in almost 2 years. The most recently released Half-Life: Alyx is almost a relic of the past already. Now, an announcement has been made that the developer studio, which has been involved games like Portal, Counter-Strike or Left 4 Dead, will offer another Steam Deck game: Aperture Desk Job.
What Is Aperture Desk Job?
Aperture Desk Job is a free Portal spin-off to celebrate the new Steam deck. Those of you who own the Valve-owned console will be able to use the game quite well. Aperture Desk Job offers a playful tutorial on how Steam Deck works.
It's all set in the Portal universe - and no, it's not the Portal 3 we've been waiting for for so long. Here is a little something out of the steam description: "Aperture Desk Job reimagines the been-there-done-that genre of walking simulators and puts them in the lightning-spanked, endorphin-gorged world of sitting still behind things."
Sitting still is the key here - your job is to inspect products, work on the assembly line, and check whether these products are actually doing the job their designed to do. And don't you worry: Even if you don't own the Steam Deck, you can still take a look at Apertur Desk Job on your PC. The game is available for free.
When Is Aperture Desk Job Coming?
Aperture Desk Job will be released on March 01, 2022. That means, the game will be released just a few days after the official release of Steam Deck itself. Valve's portable PC is thus another big player in the console game. Fun Fact: if you want to play Aperture Desk Job with your PC, you will definitely need a controller.
