The island of Fortnite has been flipped, bringing not only a completely new map, but also many new functions and features to the game. Among them, a brand-new slide mechanic and Spider-Man's Web-Shooters.But apparently, there are even more new things coming our way. Fortnite leaker HYPEX has hinted that an important feature from Warzone will be making its way into Epic's Game's Battle Royale, which could change the game completely.

Is the Tactical Sprint mechanic coming to Fortnite?

Okay, it's nothing new that every Battle Royale title has borrowed various functions and features from each other over the years. After all, some of these game mechanics are evergreen among all FPS games and shooters alike. For example, Fortnite introduced reboot vans after the popularity of Apex Legends' respawn feature. Or the sliding feature that Warzone already had from its beginnings. Although each of the major BR titles has something unique to offer, it's no secret that they inspire each other to keep improving their games.

With Fortnite in particular, it feels like Epic is always looking to squeeze more and more content into the game. Be it features, skins or crossovers. This seems to be continuing as another very popular Warzone feature is set to come to Fortnite. At least, if the latest leaks are to be believed. According to HYPEX, Fortnite will adopt another mobility and movement feature from Activision, the Tactical Sprint mechanic.

When is the Tactical Sprint mechanic coming to Fortnite?

HYPEX doesn't give a time frame for when the tactical sprint will come to Fortnite, but if we remember, the slide mechanic was first leaked a few months before its release. Therefore, it may well be that this new mechanic will only come to the game in the next season of Fortnite or in a later one.

The tactical sprint has proven to be quite popular in Warzone, but whether Fortnite players will be as excited about this feature remains to be seen. After all, Fortnite is already an extremely faced paced game, and it might prove difficult to fight if everyone in the game could also sprint across the map. Just go look at any high level Fortnite match during the final Storm Circle, it is bloody building chaos. Mixing in a speed boost as you build and edit just brings a whole lot of complexity to an already difficult game to get into.

But only time will tell, and keep in mind that the sliding mechanic didn't break the game.
