If there are two things Fortnite is known for besides its typical Battle Royale, it's the creative mode and the never-ending crossovers.
Then again, when you give the community the freedom to create, no fandom is safe from collaboration. Just like you won't be safe in a Squid Game!
That's what happened to the Fortnite community after the South Korean survival drama, Squid Game hit the scene on Netflix. As soon as it became popular, creators in Fortnite were already rushing into creative mode to create their very own versions of it in-game.Although it's not as scary as the original Japanese manga or even the series on Netflix, one well-known, long-time Fortnite enthusiast jumped at the chance. He decided to create his own version of the manga.
The Squid Game in Fortnite
Glitch King, who is usually known for uncovering in-game glitches, has created an in-game version of Netflix's Squid Game. The custom creation sticks to the TV series adaptation in every way, including its eerie music. Some graphics leave something to be desired, but they get the theme across well, and everything from the series is present in one form or another.
How Does Squid Game Work In Fortnite?
Just like in the Netflix adaptation, players have to line up in the sorting area at the beginning of the game and wait until the lobby is full. Beds can be seen next to shelves that resemble the dorm bunks seen in the Netflix drama. Once the lobby is full and the game begins, you have then teleported to the game area. At the opposite end of the room is a large creepy doll, which is similar to the Netflix version with a built-in sensor that detects movement. Players must get past the doll to reach the safe zone, or die trying.

In the version developed by Glitch King, one player must be the host, while the other players can just join the game as a player. When the host says the word "Green Light", players can move through the arena to the safe zone. When the words "Red Light" are spoken, the players must stop moving immediately. If they are caught moving after the words "Red Light" are spoken, they will be eliminated by the host.
In addition to this rule, players must reach the safe zone before the timer expires, or they will also be eliminated.
