In FIFA 22 the new Patch Notes (1.16) as well as the fourth Title Update are live for consoles now. Publisher EA takes action against hackers and improves some gameplay elements.
FIFA 22 has been quite dangerous for some content creators... we already reported that some top traders had problems with phishing attacks and some of them lost access to their accounts temporarily. EA, though, has not been of much help so far. This should change in the near future.
Furthermore, the gameplay of FIFA 22 is still being improved. This time, the focus is on the broken corners, goalkeepers, faster player switching, the career mode and *drum roll* pitch lines. Let's dive into the details!
Pitch Notes Address Recent FUT Account Hacking
This had become an issue in recent weeks: According to the pitch notes on the official EA website, “only” about 50 accounts have been affected by the phishing attacks, but that is still a no-go. Why? Because of human error, the two-factor authentication could be circumvented again and again.
This is where publisher EA comes in with team training. All EA advisors and individuals who assist with the service of EA Accounts will receive further training on the topic of account security and be informed about the most common phishing techniques. In addition, the software is also being updated so that suspicious behavior is recognized more quickly and affected accounts are flagged accordingly.
FIFA 22 Update 1.16 – The Patch Notes
Corner Bug/Glitch Is Finally Fixed
Passing back to your player after a corner and crossing afterwards isn't working anymore. At least a lot less than a few weeks ago. That's nice – but the passing in general has been adjusted and feels a bit weird...
RB Passes Changed
Something isn't quite right with passing since the last update. Feels strange, clear words are found on Reddit: "Feels like sh*t. Not just driven passes (RB), all of them." That is so far also our feeling. So please fix it again EA. But the worst is...
Messed Up Pings
..that our pings and connections, have been suffering since the last update. Of course it can only be short-lived, EA fixes something on the servers and it's fine. At least we hope so.
Goalkeeper Improvements
Do you remember the beginning of FIFA 22 when the goalkeepers were absolutely OP and literally saved every shot? Well, lately that wasn't really the case anymore... especially shots from very short range slipped through again and again. So with the new Title Update, Donnarumma, Mendy and others will be reacting better to these situations. Finally.
Switching Players gets faster
When defending a cross with the Auto Switching setting set to Automatic, On Air Balls and Loose Balls, or Only Air Balls, an automatic player switch will occur slightly faster than before. That may not sound like such a big deal, but it can make the difference between rank I and II, especially in the Weekend League.
Career Mode – Fixes for Youth Players
Even if you sometimes get the impression... no, Ultimate Team is not the only mode in FIFA 22. Fans of career mode have always been disadvantaged and have only been getting more and more innovations for a few years now. Not everything runs smoothly here as well, especially young talents are still a thorn in EA's side. With the new update, some bugs like unrealistically proportioned arms, missing names or numbers on the jerseys and missing progress will be fixed.
Pitch Lines always visible
What is more annoying in FIFA 22 than kits that hardly differ from your opponent? Well, pitch lines that you can't even see because you're playing FUT and your opponent has chosen green as the color. Thank God, this is going to be a thing of the past, because:
During away matches, players will see their own equipped pitch line colors instead of their opponent’s.
These are the most important changes of the fourth Title Update in FIFA 22. You can scroll through the complete patch notes on the FIFA forum. We don't know yet when the update will be released... but it sure is going to be “soon”. We just hope that the game will be relatively fun to play during the TOTY hype.
