After starting her GoFundMe campaign last year, Twitch streamer Clara “Keffals” Sorrenti is now facing scam allegations after revealing her drug addiction, as people are wondering where their money really went.
For those of you who don't know, Keffals is a 28-year-old streamer from Canada who is well known for her trans activism and being a trans content creator.
Keffals Accused Of Using GoFundMe Money For Drug Addiction
In August 2022, the streamer was in the news after being swatted and arrested due to the transphobic treatment by the police.
After the arrest, Keffals started a GoFundMe campaign to, as she describes it, “recoup my losses and to build a legal fund to protect my rights”.
On February 20, Keffals posted on Twitter revealing that she was struggling with substance abuse and is looking into rehab.
regardless of how you feel about me, addiction is a disease. no one chooses to struggle with substance abuse and it's has been a lifelong struggle for me. shaming people for it and mocking people for it does not encourage them to get help and get better. please do better.

After the news started to spread, people began to question whether her GoFundMe might have in fact been used to fuel her addiction.

One person in particular who brought up this topic was the fellow Twitch streamer ChudLogic stating:
"The fact that you are now talking about having this addiction, and it seemingly happened around this GoFundMe situation, did you use the money for drugs? Because if you did, that would be f*cking insane.”
It is going to be hard for Keffals to disprove these allegations brought up against her, but as a trans streamer, Clara sadly is no stranger to hate online.
Other than her response to the hate online, though, the 28-year-old streamer hasn't posted anything addressing the scam allegations so far.
We don't know whether Keffals used the GoFundMe money for drugs, but we sure hope that she will be able to beat her addiction!
If you're struggling with addiction, or know somebody that does, you should definitely consider getting help! It is pretty much impossible to beat an addiction on your own, but as a matter of fact, you don't have to do so!
