Pokimane - the great goddess of simping, at whose temple millions of lonely men worship - has finally admitted to streamers burnout. Here's a rundown of what she said and what her streaming plans are going to be from here on out.
"Stressed?! How can she be stressed!" I hear you bellowing at the screen. And sure, she's not a bricky or a nurse, and yes, her job is effectively to procrastinate in front of a camera for hours at a time, but let's not forget the intensity of the position she holds.
If she goes out she has to worry about being confronted and bombarded by strangers. She needs to put on a smile and play the 'Pokimane' role for hours and hours at a time, even on days when I'm sure she'd rather not. And probably most damagingly, the constant publicity of her life must make it incredibly hard to maintain authentic, personal relationships. So understandably, she's admitted to having serious burnout.
Pokimane's Streaming Burnout
In her YouTube video, "IRL diaries", Pokimane admitted to having burnout from streaming, she's taken on multiple projects and is clearly looking at taking a break. She asked:
"Why do I have seven figures in my bank account for? To feel like a slave to what I’m expected to do or to the capitalistic idea of making the most amount of money you can? Is money really the thing that I want to maximize in my life?" she said before adding, "I just don't want this to be my norm."
Admittedly, opening with the line "why do I have seven figures in my bank account?" makes it immediately far harder to sympathize with her. I'm sure a great many struggling families wish that, actually, that was their norm. But let's get back to the pressing emotional concerns of the moment: a 25-year-old millionaire is upset with their workload.
