TikTok is a wild place, with trends popping off out of nowhere. Now for whatever reason the Grimace Shake is going viral for... apparently killing people? The colorful milkshake was reintroduced by McDonald's for Grimace's birthday. Boy, they probably didn't expect this to turn into a dark TikTok Meme.

What Is Going On With The Grimace Shake?

If you have been anywhere near the internet these last couple of days, you probably stumbled upon at least one video about the Grimace shake.

The video probably started with someone going “Oh, I will try out the Grimace Shake” before the video takes a dark twist, and you can see said person “dead” and mutilated (in most cases). The more over the top and visceral, the better.

Don't worry, the Grimace shake isn't actually dangerous, in fact, it's apparently pretty delicious. But that's just the nature of TikTok trends.

This got to the point where even the official McDonald's Twitter account took notice of the viral trend, responding in a humorous way.

The internet sure is a beautiful place. Try explaining to the people that lived before the internet why a purple milkshake being “responsible” for the violent and grim death of the person that drinks it is funny. Well, it just is!

Sometimes the internet is just horrible, though:
