Smosh is a well-known entertainment brand that originated on YouTube. It was created by Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla in 2005 and quickly gained popularity for its comedic sketches, parodies, and music videos.

In its early days, Smosh became famous for its sketch comedy videos, featuring humorous and often absurd scenarios, pop culture references, and relatable everyday situations. The content was infused with wit, slapstick humor, and a touch of satire, appealing to a wide range of viewers. But then, as all great things do, it was acquired by a media big-dog and lost the original magic.

However, almost twenty years later, Padilla and Hecox have bought the rights to the original brand back!

According to Mythical Entertainment, the company “realized a significant multiple of its original invested capital” in Smosh and it will retain a minority stake in the comedy outfit.
