Popular game franchises finding their way onto the big screen in the form of movies or series seems to have become fashionable lately. I mean, just think about HBO producing a The Last of Us series, which is scheduled to debut in 2023. We also have a God of War series, a Horizon series and... now it's time for Days Gone. Of course.

Days Gone Movie In The Works

It has now been more than three years since the action-adventure game was first published – on April 26, 2019, to be precise. Since then, we had a lot of time to enjoy and explore the post-apocalyptic open world created by Bend Studio. Soon, we will be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the single-player experience on the big screen as PlayStation Productions is working on a Days Gone movie.

No, we don't have a lot of information about the adaption currently – like what the story will be about and when we can expect the movie to be released. But there is one particular piece of information that didn't exactly cause enthusiasm, even with a developer of Days Gone. PlayStation Productions is looking to cast Sam Heughan (you probably know him from Outlander) to play Deacon St. John.

Just a reminder for anyone that forgot or simply hasn't played Days Gone so far: Deacon St. John is the main character of the game and was voiced by Sam Witwer. On top of that, he even lent his face for the character. So why don't they want to stay close to the game and bring a "familiar" face to the big screen? As you can see from the tweet above, even Days Gone developer John Garvin shares the same opinion. Maybe he'll at least get a cameo or something...
