Anime fans rejoice! After over half a decade, Blue Exorcist gets its next season and it isn't even that far away. The hiatus was long enough for sure.

Never heard of Blue Exorcist? I'll help you out. The manga turned anime follows the son of Satan, Rin Okumura and his journey of becoming an exorcist in spite of his demonic heritage. His twin brother, Yukio, is an exorcist as well and together with their fellow students at True Cross Academy – who are, you guessed it, also exorcists – they protect the human realm from demons. And Satan.

If you liked Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach or Trinity Blood, chances are that Blue Exorcist might be something for you!

Blue Exorcist Season 3 | Release Date

Blue Exorcist Season 3 is scheduled to release in January 2024. There's no concrete date yet, but seems like a great start into the new year for anime fans!

For the time being, there's no English trailer yet – but here's the Japanese one and the subs are just fine, so take a look:

Blue Exorcist Season 3: Shimane Illuminati Saga

As mentioned above, season 3 will cover the events of the manga volumes 10 to 15. Not to spoil anything, but those chapters are infamous for their various twists and turns. So make sure to buckle up for a wild ride! Given the title, it shouldn't be too much of a spoiler to tease that the Illuminati organization will play an even bigger role than before.

Interesting to note, though: the first seasons were produced by the studio A-1 Pictures. They have parted ways now with Studio VOLN taking over. Still, the voice cast is set to remain the same, meaning we'll hear familiar voices:

  • Rin: Nobuhiko Okamoto in Japanese, Bryce Papenbrook in English
  • Yukio: Jun Fukuyama in Japanese, Johnny Yong Bosch in English
  • Shiemi: Kana Hanazawa in Japanese, Christine Cabanos in English
  • Renzo: Kōji Yusa in Japanese, Brian Beacock in English
  • Ryuji: Kazuya Nakai in Japanese, Kyle Hebert in English
  • Mephisto: Hiroshi Kamiya in Japanese, Sam Riegel in English
  • Satan: Keiji Fujiwara in Japanese, Kirk Thornton in English

Season 2's writer Toshiya Ōno returns as well and the music will still composed by the loving hands of Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto.

We'll make sure to keep you posted and as soon as there's a concrete date to report, you can bet you'll hear it from us!
