Evonik Industries is a global leader in specialty chemicals. Based in Essen, Germany, Evonik is one of the largest chemical companies in Germany. It was founded in 2007 as the successor to RAG-Beteiligungs-AG and operates production facilities worldwide in 27 countries. With a strong presence in Europe, Asia, and America, the company serves customers in over 100 countries.

Evonik is known for its innovations and ability to produce high-quality products for various industries. Its main business areas include specialty chemicals, materials, nutrition and care, as well as technologies. The solutions developed are used in numerous areas, from the automotive and construction industry to cosmetics and agriculture.

In searching for new solutions, Evonik particularly focuses on sustainability. Environmentally friendly production processes and the development of products that contribute to energy efficiency and resource conservation are thus an important part of the company's philosophy.

Next, we'll show you what Evonik has to do with gaming, what the company actually manufactures, and why you should definitely take a look at their job offers.

Evonik And Gaming

Apart from the fact that certain materials and solutions from Evonik are probably also used indirectly in the production of gaming peripherals, the company is also much more directly engaged in the gaming industry. For example, they appear as sponsors of the BVB eFootball team, but have also worked with well-known gaming influencers like PietSmiet for a campaign to recruit young talent.

What's the connection here? Gamers are often very tech-savvy and especially in esports, it's important to bring strong performance, work as a team, and grow together. These are values that are also of great importance in the workplace, which is why young gamers are an interesting target group for employee recruitment.

What Does Evonik Actually Do?

In the introduction to the article, we have already briefly introduced the company, but Evonik is extremely diverse and most of us probably can't initially grasp the somewhat abstract term "specialty chemicals." So, let's take a look at what Evonik actually does.

The company's LinkedIn description reads:

"While we don’t produce electric cars, aircraft, medications or 3D printers, Evonik is part and parcel of these and many other end products. That’s because we contribute the small things that make a big difference. We make electric car batteries perform better, aircraft greener, medications more effective and 3D printers more efficient. In short: We think beyond the bounds of chemistry to make the world a better place."

Ok, but what products does Evonik actually produce? Short answer: A whole lot! In total, Evonik holds around 24,000 patents and over 7,350 brand names, so we can't list everything here. But to give you something tangible, here are a few examples:

  • Polyvest: This additive reduces the rolling resistance index of car tires by 10 -15%, making cars consume less fuel without losing their wet grip and abrasion resistance.
  • Resomer: Evonik develops medical implants that can be precisely manufactured using 3D printing and gradually replaced by bone tissue in the body.
  • Rewoferm: With this product, Evonik offers an additive for cleaning agents, care and washing products that is fully biodegradable, provides excellent cleaning properties, and is derived from renewable resources.
  • Dynasylan: This organic binder is used, for example, for paints applied for corrosion protection on bridges and other structures. The product can also be used for coatings, adhesives and sealants, plastics, aerogels, and many other areas.
  • Vestosint: This is a particularly resistant and chemical-resistant plastic powder for 3D printers, used in various areas.
