Whether you play Resurgence, BR or Ranked we've got you covered. Here is a quick summary of the Warzone Season 6 meta. We've included attachments, tunings, perks and recommended equipment choice.
We are almost at the end of the Modern Warfare 2 lifecycle. At this point in the year most players are just waiting for MW3 to launch or for the next big map to come to Warzone. But, the devs have still given us a couple of new weapons and they've even made a few significant buffs and nerfs in the Season 6 patch.
In this article, we present a short roundup of what we consider to be the current Warzone Season 6 meta (the best weapons). Long story short, the new AR is fantastic, the ISO 45 remains a great SMG, and they've made the Lockwood .300 completely broken. You can find a more detailed overview below, which includes attachments and tunings.
Warzone Season 6 Meta: Best Weapons Overview
In the following, you will find the current Warzone 2 meta for short and long distances:
- Best Long-Range AR: TR-76 Geist / RAPP-H
- Best Short-Range Weapon: Lockwood (Resurgence Only) / ISO-45
- Best Sniper: FJX Imperium / Signal 50 (Ranked Only)
When it comes to equipment and perks, we advise the following combination.
Warzone Season 6 Meta | Long-Range: TR-76 Geist (Option 1)
The Geist is the new assault rifle introduced with Season 6, and we think it's the best AR for Warzone right now. It combines a steady rate of fire with solid damage and low recoil. There is admittedly a lot of visual recoil, and the gun does steadily rise as you shoot, but your shots actually aren't going to deviate much horizontally when you fire. And vertical recoil is much easier to mitigate than horizontal.
This is the best TR-76 Geist setup right now:
Slot | Attachment | Tunings |
Muzzle | Sakin Tread-40 | +0.65 / +0.30 |
Barrel | Bruen Bridle Heavy | +0.35 / +0.20 |
Optic | Aim OP-V4 | Default |
Magazine | 45 Round Mag | Default |
Underbarrel | FTAC Ripper-56 | +0.60 / +0.20 |
A very predictable set of attachments here, but there's a reason we keep using them. With this combination you have extended range, great recoil control and even some added aiming stability. Of course, mobility and handling will have to take a hit, but even with all of these attachments in use the weapon never feels too sluggish.
Warzone Season 6 Meta | Long-Range: RAPP-H (Option 2)
For those who are happy to use slower/heavier weapons, we have also provided a quick overview of the best RAPP-H.
The RAPP combines great damage and recoil control with an absurd rate-of-fire, which gives it the best average TTK in the whole game. It's actually been in this position for a while, so why doesn't everyone use? Because it has poor mobility and a horrendously long reload time. We recommend the RAPP to players who like to post up behind head-glitches and hold their L-Triggers. In that role, it's obviously the best weapon available.
Here is the best RAPP-H loadout for long range:
Slot | Attachment | Tunings |
Muzzle | Lockshot KT85 | +0.75 / +0.35 |
Barrel | Romeo FT 16" | +0.50 / +0.40 |
Optic | Aim OP-V4 | Default |
Rear Grip | Lachmann TCG-10 | +1.00 / +0.45 |
Underbarrel | Edge-47 | +0.80 / +0.40 |
All of our attachments are geared towards enhancing recoil control, with the most efficient tradeoffs in mind. The optic is personal preference, but you could even consider a 3x for Al Mazrah.
This specific muzzle break is very effective at mitigating horizontal recoil, and we found it to be the most comfortable in testing. If you feel you're struggling too much with vertical recoil then consider swapping out this attachment for a muzzle device focused more on recoil control.
Warzone Season 6 Meta | Short-Range: Lockwood 300 (Resurgence Only)
We hate that we're recommending this toxic and broken shotgun to you, but this weapon is absurdly busted right now. We only recommend it for Resurgence because it's suited to close-quarters, but you could probably still make it work on the big maps if you took engagements correctly.
With the new trigger attachment the Lockwood can fire both barrels at once, and that's enough to down three-plated enemies. Therefore, you effectively have a 0ms TTK because the enemy will instantly die after shooting both barrels. The Lockwood can instantly down players up to 5 meters away with hip-fire and 10 meters away while aiming-down-sight.
Here is the best Lockwood 300 loadout at the moment:
Slot | Attachment | Tunings |
Muzzle | Sakin DB107 | -1.40 / +1.00 |
Barrel | Matuzek 812 Barrel | -0.50 / +0.40 |
Laser | Schalger ULO-66 | -0.48 / +51.00 |
Stock | Heist Stock | Default |
Trigger Action | Maelstrom Dual Trigger | -0.18 / -0.10 |
The only 100% essential thing to make this build work is the Dual Trigger attachment. Besides this, we are simply going with attachments that extend damage range, reduce ADS time, and improve Sprint Out speeds.
Warzone Season 6 Meta | Short-Range: ISO 45
The Lachmann Sub and ISO 9mm are also fantastic SMGs, but we are recommending the ISO 45 because we think it will feel more reliable for more players. Especially because, unlike the other meta SMGs, the ISO 45 maintains a respectable TTK past 10 meters, where the others fall off a cliff.
Below, you can find the best ISO 45 loadout for Warzone 2.
Slot | Attachment | Tunings |
Muzzle | Bruen Cubic Comp | +0.80 / +0.35 |
Barrel | 9" PTX Trainer | -0.50 / +0.40 |
Stock | Demo Fade Tac | -4.00 / -2.40 |
Rear Grip | A30 Stout | -1.00 / -0.40 |
Magazine | 45 Round Drum | Default |
This is the same build we've been using for a few weeks now, and we think it strikes a perfect balance for the average player between speed and usability. We were also able to extend the effective damage range with the barrel.
Warzone Season 6 Meta | Sniper: FJX Imperium
For Resurgence and BR, where one-shot snipers are allowed, we currently think the FJX Imperium is the best choice for most players. It's very quick to ADS and it has access to explosive ammo (which you need to one-shot). Also, it feels very satisfying to use (although, admittedly, it doesn't hold a candle to the OG Intervention that it's trying to emulate).
Here is our favorite FJX Imperium build:
Slot | Atachment | Tuning |
Muzzle | Nilsound 90 | -1.40 / +1.00 |
Barrel | Farrenheit 29" | -0.50 / +0.40 |
Laser | VLK LZR 7MW | -0.50 / -51.00 |
Optic | Forge Tac Delta 4 | Default |
Ammunition | .408 Explosive | +0.70 / +9.00 |
Because this is our one-shot sniper, we don't need to worry about recoil control. We just need to be able to land one good shot as fast as possible. For this reason we have focused on attachments that either speed up our ADS time or extend our one-shot range.
We chose the 4x optic because it's the best scope out of the ones that only have a "very small sniper glint".
Warzone Season 6 Meta | Sniper: Signal 50 (Ranked Only)
In Ranked, none of the snipers can one-shot, and instead they all require multiple shots to down a target. So the Signal 50 is the best weapon to use in this game mode. This is because it's a semi-auto rifle, and so it has a much faster firing rate than all the bolt-operated snipers.
These are the best Signal 50 attachments to use right now:
Slot | Atachment | Tuning |
Muzzle | Nilsound 90 | -1.40 / +1.00 |
Barrel | 29" TV Kilo-50 | +0.40 / +0.15 |
Optic | Forge Tac Delta 4 | Default |
Rear Grip | SA Finesse Grip | -0.70 / +0.30 |
Ammunition | .50 Cal High Velocity | +0.50 / +7.20 |
For snipers like this, that aren't a one-shot kill, we need to worry about things like recoil control so that we can land follow-up shots. Sadly that makes it harder to optimize this weapon in the way we could with the FJX Imperium, but we think the above attachments (with the correct tunings) will give you the best overall balance between ease-of-use and speed.
As with the Imperium listed above, the optic is your choice, but the delta has almost no sniper glint.
