A popular Call of Duty leaker and dataminer has revealed Vanguard's Season One Challenges mere weeks before the launch.
Last we wrote, we updated you on the very first bit of Season One news for Call of Duty: Vanguard, with sadness flowing through our veins. Then, a few days later, the picture you see above was leaked, revealing and hinting at a few things that may be coming to the game come Season One's launch on December 8. It was a lot to take in, and quite a lot to be enthusiastic, but now we've got something else for you: Vanguard's Season One Challenges!
Now, we want to preface the below information with a little bit of a disclaimer: this is a leak, people, a leak! Yes, the information we're about to share with you is purely a leak, and not information provided to us from a reliable or known source. The problem with game's journalism at the moment is that there is actually very little accountability, but this leaker has been correct in the past, and could be correct in the future. Thus, it goes without saying: take everything in this article with a little dash of sodium chloride.
What Are the Season One Challenges Leaked for Call of Duty: Vanguard?
There will be twenty challenges, with twenty cards and a master card, in Call of Duty: Vanguard Season One. In addition, Vanguard will be getting something called a "Legacy Category that will show us our previous progression in both Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. This basically brings Vanguard up to par with last year's CoD, BOCW, as that game also featured twenty challenges and twenty cards.
The challenges were revealed in a leak from TheMW2Ghost on Twitter, who has been known to be verifiably correct about various leaks in the past. In the tweet, shown below, he did admittedly only theorize about the precise number of challenges. That being said, the screenshot itself reveals a lot, but is also in French. It's 2021, though, so that doesn't really matter, does it?
Season Challenges for #Vanguard starting in S1.We'll be getting a new Legacy category showing our previous progression starting from MW19 through Cold War. Assuming the Season Challenges system will be the same as CW's; 20 challenges with 20 cards, and a Master one. pic.twitter.com/dWSW41oqmD

So, let's make things a little bit easier for you and translate what was revealed in the screenshot. Below is a complete translation, structured in the order shown in TheMW2Ghost's picture. We hope that it is helpful.
Vanguard Progress Will Be Available Soon!
A New Prestige Military Adventure
The progression of military ranks will be synchronized with Vanguard. Unlock all new weapons, gear and content for use in both Vanguard and Warzone. Get to the end of the military ranks to start a new prestige adventure, while continuing your progress, to obtain a prestigious master ribbon.
Keep Your "Legacy"
A new section will be available in progression. It will contain your past prestige adventure, and allow you to keep your heritage so that you can start a new prestige adventure.
All New Seasonal Challenges
New Seasonal Challenges are available in Warzone and Vanguard. Previous Seasonal Challenges will be removed from Warzone at the start of the new Career.
So there you have it! We will likely get a similar number of challenges in Vanguard Season One as we did in Black Ops Cold War. It's quite exciting, as the news is relatively extensive and this new Legacy System looks insanely solid. We do have to admit, though, that these challenges alone won't necessarily convince us to spend a whole lot of time in Vanguard. The game is basically just a glorified level farmer for Warzone, which is getting its brand new map on exactly the same day. We'll probably be enjoying Caldera, not this bloated mess of a game. Sorry, Vanguard...
