After what feels like an eternity, RICOCHET is now live in Vanguard and ruins the fun for multiplayer cheaters.
RICOCHET is fortunately nothing new for most of us anymore. The anti-cheat, which was developed specifically for Call of Duty, went live for Warzone at the end of last year and has significantly reduced the cheater problem ever since. The anti-cheat runs on PCs at the kernel level and is constantly being improved. However, RICOCHET was not yet available in the normal Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer. This is changing now.
RICOCHET is Active in Call of Duty: Vanguard

RICOCHET Influences the Call of Duty: Vanguard Leaderboard
After it was revealed that some of the best players on the Call of Duty: Vanguard leaderboards have been using cheats, players are naturally wondering how RICOCHET will handle it. As it has now been announced, the anti-cheat will also affect the leaderboard. Those who are detected as cheaters and receive a ban will also be deleted from the leaderboards.

The team behind RICOCHET is constantly working on new methods to make the game difficult for cheaters and to protect honest players. We have already reported that cheaters in Warzone suddenly can't do any damage anymore. Thus, the developers are going one step further and introducing a system called "cloaking".
If a player is detected as a cheater by RICOCHET, all other players in the match will be invisible to him. Yes, characters, bullets and even sounds, like running etc. are no longer visible or audible to cheaters. All the honest players, of course, still see the cheaters normally (mostly the guys who are spinning wildly in circles and yelling about who is shooting at them). Cheaters are not only banned, but can also be humiliated by the other players.
Ban Updates
After only 90,000 accounts were banned in a recent wave of bans, Team RICOCHET has now announced that another 45,000 accounts have been banned. The developers also point out that they will not announce every ban wave, but players can trust that cheaters will be banned regularly.
Of course, since cheat providers are always looking for new ways to circumvent RICOCHET, Activision also encourages players to continue using the in-game tools to report suspicious activity. So don't rely 100% on the anti-cheat, but continue to use the in-game report function if you catch a cheater.
