We hope you're not thirsty, because Oasis is a dry and barren North African map. Here is our map guide, including a few tips and tricks to get you started...
Oasis is a medium sized multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard multiplayer modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Now, it's not to be mistaken with Oasis, the British Rock Band from the '90s. Specifically, it should not be mistaken with their quality, as the Oasis map in Call of Duty: Vanguard is an absolutely awful affair, as opposed to the genious of What's the Story (Morning Glory) or Definitely Maybe. Here's the map description:
As part of an Allied advance from Egypt to Libya, a Special Forces squad stages an ambush of a convoy of Axis reinforcements within a geographical choke point within a canyon oasis. This medium-sized map has fighting in and around ruins, as well as the oasis lake.
Now, look here, we're not here to bag on Call of Duty: Vanguard, but we are here to bag on its Oasis map, as it is a bland and poorly designed map, with a ton of shockingly poorly thought-out open spaces that make it a haven for camping snipers, and players who seemingly come out of nowhere. To be honest, there is nothing more frustrating than trying desperately to have fun on this map. It's just not possible, avoid it like the plague. Here is our Oasis Map Guide!
Vanguard Oasis Map Guide: The Map
Call of Duty: Vanguard's Oasis Multiplayer Map is an asymmetrical hell hole, made even worse by its badly laid-out buildings. It is the perfect example of just how bad Call of Duty: Vanguard's "destruction" turned out to be. Walls are solid, and those obviously destructible surfaces are utterly useless here. The map centres around a wide-open area between the two different sides of Oasis, flanked on either end by tall buildings that are an absolute haven for snipers and campers alike. Vanguard Oasis Map Guide: Gameplay Overview & Tactics
An Oasis in the Desert, this is one of the worst maps in Vanguard, and certainly one to avoid. Whilst that is certainly the best tactical choice to make (to just not play this map), we're not here to just shoot the map down, so let's move on. The main key to not wanting to cry whenever you play Oasis is to avoid those wide-open spaces wherein you will most-certainly be shot dead within seconds.
That being said, enemies seemingly appear out of nowhere in Oasis, so there's little avoiding the tedium. In addition, you really need to keep a keen eye on this map since its colour pallet is made up entirely of browns and light greens, making it very hard to distinguish between the environment and your opponents. When inside, look out for the conveniently placed destructible surfaces that will spell your demise within seconds. Yeah, sorry guys, I am pretty salty about this map.

If you really insist upon playing Call of Duty: Vanguard's Oasis Multiplayer Map, then you're going to need a bit more of an assault-style class setup. The trick, though, is to opt for a loadout that also features something like a DMR or a Sniper Rifle, as the only way to be effective here is at longer ranges. Bring smokes to trick enemies when moving through the open spaces, and maximize your fire power, because once you're seen, it's kill or be killed.
